Maybe it is a bad plug? Does it still have spark at the plug? Spark for the plug wire to the side of the cylinder? Spark should jump a 1/4 inch gap.Use a phyllips screwdriver to see.

Couple things- 1. If the plug was dirty after 1/2 hour you have either the wrong heat range plug(too cold) or 2. a fuel/carb issue. Buy a hotter NGK plug, ask for help the numbers don't always make sense. Use only full synthetic 2 stroke (I always liked bel-ray) and fresh 93 octane fuel. When you find a plug that works good buy a case of them, 2 stokes will foul plugs period. And some advice with your solution, never head into the woods without a spare plug, they will foul at the absolute worst time.

You have 2 solutions : take out the spark plugs and dry them with cloth, put them back in and start the bike.
Or, leave the bike over the night and the excess fuel on spark plugs will evaporate.
If the engine is hot and you have this problem, just leave the bike for half an hour and start it.

My yz 250 will start with a roll start,but I can't

Not sure of the age of your YZ 250 ( You never said!) but in most Yamaha they use dual stage stator which means a stator will charge a spark plug at two speeds one on kick starter speed and the other on running speeds it is common that the low speed circuit on the stator to fail leaving you with a bike that only starts when pushed its a very simple test to diagnose it be worth checking you have spark on kick starter speeds with spark plug out the motor but still connected

My 2005 yz 250t started ran a few feet and died. i changed out the the spark plug and still wont kick over what do you think

Could be heaps of things.

Check spark at plug.
Check clean fuel is getting to carb.
Check air intake is actually "sucking" air.

I have a RM 250 2005. A spark plug only lasts for about 3 hours riding time and will no longer work. As soon as i put a new plug in i will get another 3 hours riding time. Its not fowling the plug but i...

You need to change the spark plug here say if it is a BR 8ES (NGK) then move on to BR 6ES and if that fail then move to BR 10ES..I use to do racing and its to do with playing with that until it is sorted..Now you may also have a faulty coil, faulty spark plug cap or something else here.It may not necessarily mean it is the spark plug.
