F1 bike will not start

There could be many issues causing no spark on a 04 GSXR750. Check for battery voltage on the orange/ white wire at each coil. If none this model has a history of a failed right hand handlebar switch and or connector. Ignition voltage passes through this switch. Also check the main harness connector under the left side fairing panel near the area of the turnsignal for internally broken or corroded wires. If all this is good check the signal generator(crank position sensor) output voltage with a "peak reading " voltmeter. This is a special type of meter or attachment that must be used. The voltage should be 3-7 volts DC at cranking speed. Good luck.

Their is no red wire in the car but their is an orange wire i am trying to put a cd player in and their is a red and orange wire where should i hook the red wire

You should purchase a wiring harness for the install. If your vehicle had the vehicle side of the harness cut out, try www.mobileinformationlabs.com for wiring diagrams.

At idle left cyl misfires. Remove right plug wire at idle and bike dies. hold idle up and remove right plug wire and bike stays running. runs good on the road as long as you are in 2nd gear. Has good fire...

The two carbs are not balanced to each other. Balance as follows; Start the bike then increase the idle on the left carb to a high idle. Now unplug the right cylinder and the engine will slow down some. Now slowly turn the idle down on the left carb until the engine just dies. Hook up the right plug wire then do the same proceedure for the right carb. Now both carbs are balanced. Hook up the left wire and start the engine again. The bike will be running faster than you want so now adjust the idle screws on both carbs equally to get the desired idle speed. Please rate my answer. Thanks.

How i wire a GSX-R 600 year 2003 ignition

there is a resistor inside the ignition on the black box you need, twist the RED and ORANGE wires, the orange wires are actually one wire split into two further down by the connector so cut the red and orange wires from here. you then need to join the ORANGE/YELLOW wire to one end of the resistor and the BLACK/WHITE wire to other end, clean up and protect with electrical tape and snip other two wires, you dont need them. now can you tell me what colour wires connect to each other on the right handle switch, i need to know the colours of the wires on the switch side where it connects to the main wiring harness (both sides plz say which is which!!) cheers mate

Have hand control wireing problem ,,,, need to know what color wire does what ,,,, got the left hand control to wire up on a older bike,,,,, hooking up trun sigals and head light control,,,,what color...

This information applies to the vast majority of Honda motorcycles. Colors for the right handlebar switch are: Grey sends power to the turn signal switch. Light Blue goes from the turn signal switch, to the right turn signals. Orange goes to the left turn signals. Light Green goes to the horn button.
The left handlebar switch: Yellow With Red stripe goes to the starter button. Black wires take power to the headlight switch and the kill switch. White goes to the headlight low beam, Blue to the high beam. Brown / White goes to the tail light, running and instrument lighting. Black / White comes from the kill switch and delivers power to the ignition coils.
I hope this helps.

1985 Yamaha xj700 Maxim-I am confused about my positive and negative cables.I have a red wire coming from my main harness and a cable on the positive side of the battery does the red wire and the red cable...

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Pls see your other post, but basically:
  • in most, one end of the red wire is connected straight to the battery's + terminal. The other end of the red wire goes to the main fuse;
  • the black of course as you posted goes to the ground;
  • interchanging the 2 wires from the starter relay would make no difference;
  • the starter relay is not directly grounded;
  • the starter relay's + wire goes to the starter button;
  • the starter  relay's - wire goes to starter cut-off activated by safety interlocks (neutral and clutch lever).

Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.

Wiring To an 08 Ultra Classic

If you are mounting the unit to the bars or fairing, I would recommend using a power lead which is available in the fairing, rather than the AUX accessory switch.  The AUX switch sends power to a connector under the seat, in front of the battery.  You would need to run new wires up under the fuel tank, along the neck and into the fairing to connector your Zumo to the AUX.  Instead, there is a 12+ V switched ignition power lead which is not used on U.S. touring bikes and would be perfect for connecting your Zumo.  Pull the fairing off the bike (7 screws, TORX T-27) and look at the headlight harness, which is 3 wires, black, white, yellow.  Attached to this harness will be 2 wires, a black and an orange w/ white stripe.  The orange will have a red silicone cap over it to prevent it from shorting out in the fairing.  Cut the zip-ties which connect these 2 wires to the headlight harness and then hook it up to your Zumo, black is negative, Orange positive.
