Dear bldrnr the proper oil weight for your bic depends on the climate where you ride 20/50 is recommended for hot climates 10/40 is recommended for average temps. jim

There is more to this than just the oil weight. The manual specifically states, "Suzuki does not recommend the use of 'ENERGY CONSERVING' oils". "These oils can affect engine life & clutch performance".

Is the motor oil also the transmission fluid or is there a seperate tranny fill? 05-Suzuki Boulevard C50

One and the same- that is why, if you use an oil that is not motorcycle-specific, make sure that it does not have the "energy saving" label in the grade rating emblem. I have run Shell Rotella, both dino and synthetic, for most of the 32K of my Boulevard.

As long as the oil does not have the "energy saving" designation in the rating emblem, synthetic work just fine in the Boulevard.

Engine oilt type?

Use 10w40 motor oil. NEVER use synthetics or oils with "Special" lubricant additives. They can mess up the cork on the clutch plates.

What oil is best for a 2007 suzuki boulevard?

Use only JASO MA rated oil. Either 10w-40 or 20w-50 depending on temperature.Do not use any oil with Energy Conserving on the label it will shorten the wet clutch and gear life. Consider using synthetic oil your bike will run smoother, cooler, and shift easier. Also synthetic Hypoid gear oil will make your final drive run cooler also.

How much oil and what kind when doing oil change

Oil preference is very much a subject for debate, but any 10W40 v-twin motorcycle oil will do fine. If using anything not spcific to motorcycles, make sure that it does NOT have the "energy saving" logo in the rating mark; this can cause clutch slippage. I have used Rotella diesel oil for most of my C50's 34K miles- Irecently switched from the synthetic 15W30 to the dino 10W40 because of concerns as to the weight in hot weather, so if you are in a cooler climate, the synthetic may just be the ticket for you. Volume is 3.6 quarts when changing with the filter.

On a c50t 2006 szuki what kind of oil do you use

Hello, (06' C50 owner here) I switched to Mobil 1 4T 10w 40 Full Synthetic Motorcycle Oil at 5K miles. My reason for doing so was the transmission used to clunk into gear pretty bad with regular MC dino oil. With synthetic oil, shifting is almost smooth as butter!

Oil overfill

If it has a paper filter, replace it.
There is a dipstick or a site glass to check the oil. See owner's manual. If you don't have one look online.
