You have to remove the 4 alan key bolt on the sides of the fairings lift the rubbers up from the rear mirrors then there are 2 small black plastics crews with little spring rivets either side of the windscreen( under the rubbers) then remove the fairing inners. then unbolt the tankwith 2 alan key bolts and the tank should have a hinge at seat end and lift the tank. this should give you access to the air box and the battery. hope this helps. from wingy

Jumping A Motor Cycle Is A Bad Idea. Slow Charge With 2 Amp Trickle Charger Only. Do Not Spike The Electrical System On This Bike. Very Expensive. Keep Water Level In Battery Correct.

How to use a compact jump start system

The Jump Start replaces another vehicle when jump starting. Make sure unit is fully charged. If you need a jump start because of a dead battery in your car, connect Red lead to + battery post on your dead battery and Black lead form jump start to - battery post on dead battery. Turn unit on and start vehicle.

Hi Ron,

You didn't give a make and model number, so I will just give a generic answer.

If your lawn tractor will run when jump started only, then your battery is dead. Replace your battery.

My Duralast Gold Jump Starter Model BP-DLG will not take a charge. When it is plugged into the charger it shows fully charged; when I unplug it it goes dead, will not start and the red light shows. I have used it about 4 times in less than two years.

Battery seems to be dead jump staring didn't help 2005 jetta

Battery can be so dead that it won't take a jump. If it is the original 5 year old battery, you would be well advised to scrap the battery. If it is newer than 5 years old, charge battery on a battery charger for enough time to properly charge it. Then test it. Still dead? Scrap battery.

That's all I can offer you as you don't say why you think you have a dead battery.

Batt dead jump start does not seem to charge

Sounds like a dead or shorted cell battery. Charging system is probably working but is showing overcharge since it is trying to charge a brick. Replace the battery and all should be well.

Have to jump start car even though battery was checked good condition

If the car will not start with the battery as fitted, but will start fine with a jump start (which is just substituting power from another battery) then clearly the battery in the vehicle is faulty, dead or discharged. I am assuming of course that the cables are properly attached to the battery as fitted and the battery terminals are clean.

First - remove the cables from the battery terminals and give the battery terminals (and cable contacts) a good clean. Then charge the battery even if you think it is ok. Then re-connect the cables to the battery terminals. If the car will not start on that battery then it is either dead or faulty. If the car will start fine with a jump start (as you have indicated it definitely will) then you will need a new battery. If the battery fitted to the car is about 3 or more years old then you can anticipate problems with it especially if it has been fully discharged a few times or if it is one of the low price models.
(Some poor quality batteries on the market will die with 2 years of use. The warranty period on the battery is a fair indicator of the quality of battery you have. Many lower priced models are just 12 months which is the manufacturer saying to you that they have such little confidence in the longevity of the battery that they will only guarantee it will perform for 12 months.)

Cheers

Electrical Short???

Has the stereo been changed recently? If not move to the cigerett lighter. These two are most likely the prob. But you could have a bare wire anywhere grounding out. Good luck and hope you find it.
