2003 Suzuki RM 125 with no power band.

I have a 2003 rm 125 with no power band. when i ride it and get past half throttle it just bogs down. i cleaned the carb, changed the main jet to a 400...it was at 450 but was running to rich, checked the piston and rings and they were fine. i checked the reeds and one had a small chip missing in the corner so i replaced the reeds and its still doing this. what is the problem

Clean and dry the air filter? Go back to a stock main jet, at least to check things out? Are "O" ring seals on the main jet going bad?Partial internal collapse in exhaust (remove exhaust pipe & do a quick run down the alley), Install a new stock NGK spark plug, Be sure battery connections are clean and tight, Be sure intake manifold and carb are good and tight.

Hope this helps!

My 2003 Suzuki rm 125 kick starts with brand new spark plug then eventually bogs down and dies, does the same when push started, does it need new piston and rings?

HI,,sounds like your plug is fouling,,what pre-mix ratio are you running? and has the carb been played with? run 32-1 premix and remove and clean the carb.

piston and rings are not to blame for this behaviour.

I have a 03 125 if i just want to hammer on throttle it bogs untill powband kicks in then bog just rebuilt changes plug gas ratio cleaned air filter what else i think the jet or aif fuel is wrong the...

Try moving the clip on the jet needle downward one or two notches. This will richen the midrange mixture and lessen the bog. Remove the top of the carb for access to the jet needle and clip.

My suzuki rm 125 power banbs dont work. when i ride it theres no change at all

You should feel a surge of power as the power band comes into rpm range. If not, the first thing to check is the exhaust. A plugged ( or partially plugged ), exhaust system can be the problem. If no mud has plugged the exhaust, then remove the exhaust system and go for a test ride down the street to see if the power band surge problem is fixed. This would indicate an internal collapse of the exhaust system. You will need a new exhaust if that is the case.

How do i set my suzuki rm 125 carb to the right setting and does any 1 know what the setting should be please thanks graham

Turn the air screw and throttle screw all the way inward. IMPORTANT > do not tighten these two adjusters down. Only screw these in until they LIGHTLY seat. Now turn each adjuster one and one half turns outward. The carb is now set back to factory specs assuming no one has changed out the main jet or played with the float level..

Please rate this solution. Thanks!

Who jetted it? Sounds like an air leak. Check your manifold.

1987 rm 125 starts and idols fine, bogs out on take off!!!!

Pull the slide out of the throat of the carb then move the clip at the top of the needle down one notch, two if needed. This will richen the low end fuel mix.

Need a "very helpful" rating asap. Thanks!
