Heat gauge when I start the car engine will heat up, gauge will hit half way mark then drop. after that the gauge will rise and fall about every 3-5 mins from the 1/4 mark and down when you are going about 80+kms, when in park and idle... heat gauge rise and fall normal, takes about 1/2 hour or so in cool weather (I.E. +5) things I have replaced include...head, head gasket, thermistat, radiator, rad. fluid, rebuilt some of the part ( can not buy new anymore) the car dose not over heat, the gauge is just screwed up

Before getting too upset about this, try changing the temperature sender. Can't tell you where it is but it is usually on or near the thermostat housing but some engines have it on the intake manifold or rear of cyl head.

I have a 1993 mercury' marquis. The floor boads of the front part of the car get hot. And the thermostat keeps falling to c and rising to half way and falling on gage. Can u please help?! Thanks

possible no water in the engine and it is overheating
this is indicated by the temp gauge rising and falling
temp gauge sender units need to be immersed in water full time to get a reading so if it goes up that is in water and when it falls back that is in nothing or steam
hot engine would account for hot floor

L200 Warrior.Temp gauge rises then falls back to normal on driving.

The gauges rises fast and drops fast because there is air in the system. I would fill it first/purge the air out as it is running. If it still discharges on the floor, you might want to change the T stat and or water pump.

Hullo, I drive a 5 door 1.3ltr manual Ford Festiva. When the petrol tank is full the petrol reads full. When the petrol gauge reads around half full the petol gauge falls to zero. The petrol gauge will...

Your problem is the fuel gauge sending unit. It needs to be replaced. Another benefit of owning the durable festiva is the access panel under the back seat. You don't have to drop the tank to fix this problem.

The temperature gauge is rising when we are idling

Probably one of the radiator hoses. Turn the car on and start looking at the hoses for the leak
