Should be a dipstick on the underside of the filler cap or look a little lower down the crankcase cover for a small round viewing window

look on here for exploded view.

ok, just behind the wheel axle it the filler plug, the drain plug is at the bottom, you can not overfill the final drive gear. to check level, remove filler and oil should be just there, in otherwords when you fill it you fill til it starts to run out.

What type of fluid is to be used for the clutch on an 2004 Suzuki VS800 Intruder??

Hi

your cycle is quite different from a car in that the engine and trans(gears) are combined..so the same fluid lubricates and cools the bike....

being a v-twinn there are good oils out there today and much more inexpensive than before...
in fact many local auto stores and even discount stores have cycle oil...just make certain you get a quality brand like: valvoline, mobil, castrol and for your twinn i'd try a good 20w50.....check your manual for quantity and change the filter as well...some stores are even stocking cycle filters....

good kuck and safe riding

Is there normally oil in the ac generator of a 1996 800 suzuki intruder

Yes. As is the case with the vast majority of street bikes powered by a four cycle engine, yours has crankcase oil inside the generator cover. The oil serves to keep the generator coil temperatures at a reasonable level. Plus, it is much easier to mass produce an engine that doesn't require an oil seal around one end of the crankshaft.

What grsde of oil gos into the final drive ,shaft?

You want gear oil in it, 80/90 or 90/130. Anything in that range will work. Change it about once a year.
