We removed the factory stereo from our 94 Passat and the wiring harness was cut. After the new stereo was replaced the car would not start . Had a few blown fuses. Took a jump but next time would not start replaced battery and get absolutely nothing. I think this is something electrical

Some cars have a problem when you change the car radio it can trigger the alarm system the alarm may think that car was being stollen and kicked in the immobiser which would turn off the starter motor which is giving the affect the batts flat,, plus a lot of the ford and vauxhalls when this happens it also shuts down the fuel pump, or ignition ,, if you have the key pad to lock and unlock car use this a couple of times this can reset the system . if not it may have to go to the main dealer to do a computor check to find fault and may be 10 mins to put right ,, matdav69

Hi I'm looking stereo wiring diagram for nissan micra s 2003 to connect new market stereo harness

Hi, you can usually buy a stereo wiring harness that plugs right into your car and they are color coded to match the standard aftermarket wire radio harness, all you do is take the plug from your new stereo and match the wires with the adapter, just connect the matching wire colors. it's super easy and well worth the $15-20, and you don't have to cut up your factory harness.
good luck!

I'm looking for a factory wiring diagram for my 1999 vw passat.

Hi Chad,

If you cut the car's radio connectors off the wiring harness, you'll void the warranty of the car (or worse). Trying to splice or "tap" the wires will get confusing even if you don't connect the blue wire with the white stripe to the white wire with the blue stripe.

Do yourself a huge favor and purchase a wiring harness adapter for your 199 Passat instead. Crutchfield sells one for your car for $10. Likewise, most electronics stores that deal witrh mobile installs have them too - check out Best Buy, Circuit City, Fry's and even your local independent radio shops.

You wire the new radio's harness to the harness adapter for the car in the comfort of your home (the light is better and you don't have to contort yourself to do the work). When complete, bring it out to the car and plug one end into the car, and the other into the radio. Insert the antenna plug and you're done wiring!

If you want a wiring diagram, those usually aren't available online for free. You need to spend a few dollars for a Chilton's Auto Repair Manual or similar at an autoparts store. You may find registering at a site for Passat Enthusiasts will be beneficial.. all the folks there have Passats and discuss everything from tire sizes and rims to transmission rebuilding. One such site is the "Forum" section of Passat World.

I hope this helps & good luck!

I am switching car stereos from a factory tape deck to a pioneer. what wires go where?

There is a plug unit that will greatly help you. It plugs into the factory harness and into your Prioneer unit. Walmart sells them as do most stereo shops, costs around $8. Money well spent and will save you much time and effort, not to mention you wont have to cut up the factory harness! Best Regards

Remove radio

Replace the CD player. To pull the plastic baffle off the dashboard: Adjust the heating vents so they point downwards. Grab the plastic bar between the heating vents and the stereo. Pull. Remove the screws from the front of the mounting brackets. Pull out the crappy stereo. Unplug the antenna and the wiring harnesses. Transfer the mounting brackets to your new stereo. Cut off the big wiring harness (unless you're lucky enough to have a replacement stereo that accepts the same kind). Connect the wires to the wires on your new stereo's harness. Rear door speakers don't work w/ aftermarket radio in 94 suburban

You need to attach the blue wire on the stereo harness to the blue and white wire on the car adapter harness. they installed a small amplifier to power the rear door speakers and unless you connect those two wires then the speakers will not work.

Wiring harness

you should never cut the wires on your factory harness... metra and other companys have harnesses that fit your car and would provide you with a correct wire color code you need to hook up a aftermarket stereo keep that in mind but i will post the wire diagram u are looking for
