The bike kicks over well has spark an is gettin fuel, but wont fire but after a few times of kickin over it pops from the exhaust. been told it could be timing but aint a clue on how to do it please help.

KICK HARDER TRY PULL STARTING IT..IN SECOND GEAR..DOES IT HAVE ENOUGH COMPRESSION TO START?IT SHOULD START PULLING IT...START OFF WITH NO THROTTLE THAN IF NOT STARTING CRACK THE THROTTLE SO LIGHTLY AND SHE SHOULD FIRE OFF WHILE IN GEAR BEING PULLED OF COURSE BE CARE FUL NOT TO RUN INTO. WHO EVERS PULLING YOU..USE A LONG TOW ROPE..IF YOUR NOT A SEASONDED RIDER AND KNOW YOUR BIKE VERY WELL I WOULD NOT ATTEMPT THE PULL START...IF NOT CHECK YOUR COMPRESSION AND TIMING..MAJOR VACUUM LEAK MAYBE AT BASE GASKET..IS ENGINE SUCKING TO MUCH AIR? GOOD LUCK..
did the guy give you the starting method. if not you have flooded the plug and it will only start if you replace the plug or dry it out. method. dont touch the throttle. pull decom lever and kick over 10 times. release lever get topwith kick start. pull decom lever slightly to allow kick start to drop 1 notch. release lever and let kick start back up and kick hard. repeat should start second go.
If the valves "rock" at TDC, the piston is at TDC EXHAUST, not TDC COMPRESSION. Chances are the engine is flooded. Install a fresh spark plug and go easy on twisting the throttle when starting the bike. Be sure the battery is in good condition. Push the kick lever to just past TDC compression then give a strong kick. Don't try to kick start with the piston going upward on the compression stroke. Be sure the air cleaner is not dirty and you have good gas. Please rate my answer. Thanks!
The TTR-125 Carburetor's Run Lean by design. Mine had the same issues till I found a post on Thumpertalk.com on Carb and air box Mod. This is a good starting point on gets; 110 and 112.5 main and 17.5 pilot. But you must check spark plug coloring to make sure the jetting is correct. Check spark plug after the bike has been ridden for a wile. I also took out the stock baffle and replaced it with exhaust tip and now it fires up after a few kicks and worms up in a few minutes.
Oooh that's bad, there are a couple of options. The best case senario is that your carburator floats got stuck down allowing the fuel to fill up the cylinder and exhaust pipe. This creates too much compression for the piston to move inside the cylinder. You can check this by pulling the spark plug (MAKE SURE THE BIKE IS OFF!!!) then kick it over. If fuel sprays out of the plug hole then you're in luck. If you don't turn the bike off first, the spark plug will ignite the gas squirting out of the hole and catch on fire... I know from experience. Tip the bike over and let it drain out of the exhaust and plug hole of the cylinder. If the kick starter will not move with the plug out then it's time to remove the flywheel cover. With the flywheel cover removed and the plug out, try turning the flywheel. If it turns then the kickstarter gears are jammed or broken. If it doesn't turn, then the piston or the crank is seized. Good luck.
piston rings gone on piston or a gasket blown take spark plug off and put a compression tester in the hole and check the pressure goes over 100psi if not its good bye to rings buddy
