Hello, I have a 1997 TTR 250 which had it's key ignition removed recently when someone tried to steal it. Could you please tell me if any Yamaha motorbikes have a compatible ignition? Thank you very much...

I am not sure what year TTR250 you have. In the heading it says 2002, in your text you say 1997. Yamaha didn't import the TTR250 into the US in 1997 so if you have a non US model, I can't help you. I can tell you that if you have a 99 or later, all TTR250's use the same key switch, so any key switch off of any TTR250 will work. Unfortunately, that key switch (4GY-82510-10-00) is not used on any other model in the Yamaha line up.

Need to remove seat on ttr 250 how do i do this

They are deffinatly under the seat, there is another set of screws right behind them but that is for taking the rear fender off. After you have removed the seat screws slide and lift the seat off towards the back of the bike. If you need any other help working on your bike, I just finished doing alot of work on my own TTR250 1999 and shes runnin like a dream now.

1999 open enduro TT-R250 plastics.. will any thing else fit it?

Check around your area and the web for a motorcycle salvage yard. That should get the plastic cost down big time. As to getting loud, Got a hacksaw? Cut the muffler off and just run a straight pipe. You will want to have the option of baffling the pipe to appease law officers and grandma. The bike shop may have a baffle but one can be made from a large washer if you are handy and have an acetylene outfit.
Please rate this solution as a "FixYa" for your problem if it works out for you. Thanks!
