There is no dipstick on suzuki . Stand beside your bike and look on the bottom right side of your crankcase . look for a little site glass window . That is how you
check . if the oil is half way up the glass when you stand bike straight up . . change every 3000, plus filter

There is no dipstick!

Use the sight glass on the right hand side, bottom, rear of gearbox. Hold your bike upright, the oil level should be between the marks on the casing.

I have a 2002 suzuki VL800, there is no dipstick, instead there is a sight glass, located on right side low on crankcase, two marks are present representing low and high levels!

Oil is added from a plug atop the right side of the crankcase

Great advice, except for the fact that one must sit on the ground to see the correct oil level. It is very easy to drop the bike on oneself while trying to read the level. If you stand to hold the bike upright, again, you can't see the view-window. The only safe way to check the oil level is to enlist the help of a friend. Somebody really needs (!) to fashion a dipstick to fit the Boulevard.

If you can not trust yourself to hold up your bike? Go to Harbor Freight and buy a bike jack they are cheap but good for changing your own oil and filter. This is a hugh money saver down the road. Also good for cleaning your bike at eye level

There is a cover on the same side as the glass bubble. Not the cover with the glass but the cover behind that. It is not going to be a dip stick just a fill port to put oil in. the glass is the way to see if you have enough oil.
