SOURCE: Electronic Fuel Pump
It turned out that the ignition key was faulty and it cut out my fuel pump and power to my spark plug but all other electrics worked. Tried my spare key and could hear fuel pump working pressed starter and it fired up how bizarre is that. so problem sorted.

There should always be power at the injectors as long as the fuel pump is on. The fuel injection ECU provides a ground to the injectors to turn them on.
You most likely have a bad fuel injection ECU. This is a very common failure on 88,89 and 90 SAABs.

One or more of your fuel injectors are defective. I have a 1991 Olds Ciera 3.3L V-6. It had the exact same problem as your car did.I had checked the pressure, which is 40 psi at the fuel rail. I also replaced the fuel filter, checked the crankshaft sensor, and throttle sensor. Still had the same problem. Cleaned the throtte body intake. What i finally found was a bad #4 fuel injector. Take a multimeter, diconnect the electrical connectors of each injector, check the resistence of each injector over the 2 electrical connectors ,they should be between 12 and 14 omes. The ones that are NOT passing the test(or the ones that don't match up),replace. The computor (EMC) ,will not let the engine start,if one or more injectors are defective.
