Electrical question regarding speed four

I'm hoping someone can help with the following,

I have just installed a Triumph approved datatool S4 alarm alarm which was straight forward except for one aspect and that was the installation of the ignition connector. The problem is that i cannot locate the 8-way connector mentioned in the instructions which is where i'm required to cut the igniton wire either side of the 8 way connector, to be honest i'm not sure what this connector does but i'm sure it is to be fitted. So if anyone can identify where i'm to find the 8 way connector then that would be much appreciated,

Regards

You could try T595.net ... they have lots of smart guys with answers to stuff like this ... at a guess you are looking for a bundle of black wires that goes to a socket/plug under the seat ... the plug will have one or two loops of wire making the ignition circuit ...
If you had a factory alarm fitted it would be plugged directly into this connector

Does a triumph speed trip 955i 2000,have an alarm and immobiliser fitted as standard

I have a 2001 tiger 955i, the wiring loom on that is set up to accept the fitting of a factory alarm I believe manufactured by datatool. On mine this is under the seat cowl. It will have only been fitted if it was fitted at new or a later owner decided to fit it.
I believe a Talon alarm ( http://www.talonalarms.com/ )may be a straight fit.

I used some of the wiring and modified the loom to fit a spy alarm from http://www.cyclonealarms.co.uk/

Wont start think its to do with alarm system how do u reset it

alarms supplied by Triumph as accessories were in fact Datatool alarms, do a google search for Datatool and see who sells or distributes them. the Datatool website will probably lead you to their helpdesk.
