SOURCE: replace rear brake pads

Remove right saddlebag, pull the two caliper mounting bolts and remove the caliper. Do not open bleeder or disconnect line. You will need to push a large screwdriver between the old pads before removing them in order to push the pucks back into the caliper or the new pads will not spread enough to reinstall. Then pull the two smaller bolts from the caliper and the pads will fall out. The pads are different for inside and outside, so pay attention, and remember, after reinstalling, before riding, be sure to pump brake pedal, and it may take a few stops before brakes stop as effectively as before.

SOURCE: How do I change the front and rear brakes on a

Not too hard - Undo the two bolts on the caliper and then seperate the caliper and pull the old ones out. Insert the new ones and put the bolts back in to hold the caliper back together and then install them back on the bike with the two retaining bolts. Use a bit of lock tight (Blue) on the threads. Warning do not let anyone apply pressure on the brakes while you have them off the bike or you will have a mess and/or a problem.

Keep blowing fuse for running lights on trunk, fender marker lights, tail light and front turn signal running lights. can't find bare wire anywhere.

Not necessarily a bare wire. Could just be a slight broken spot in the insulation. Check the wiring inside the rear fender. Sometimes the tire gets into the wiring harness and chews things up a bit. This usually happens on lowered bikes.

2005 harley fxdwg brake light works, tail light does not. replaced bulb, replaced tail light cover ?

The brake and running lights should run on separate wires from under the seat, through the hole in the rear fender and into a connector on the rear tail light cover. Your turn signal wires run the same path. These should all be clipped into place under the fender. I would look for a broken wire under the fender, especially at the point of the clip, or a corroded terminal in the tail light housing. The open wires are suseptable to rear wheel thrown road debris. You have easy access for a wire continuity test from the plug under the seat to the tail light cover.

2011 Harley Davidson Wide Glide tail light not working @

Hi, Joe tail light issues are relatively easy to diagnose and repair always check the tail light fuse first and make sure you have power on both sides of the fuse holder and the usual suspects are:
1. Taillight bulb element is broken.
2. Taillight bulb soldered contacts are extremely worn down.
3. Taillight bulb socket corroded.
4. Taillight bulb socket has no power and or ground.
5. Taillight wiring harness damaged from the rear tire.
6. Taillight rear fender wiring harness connector faulty due to corroded, broken, or loose pins/sockets.

My brake light does not work with neither front or back brakes on my electraglide but, my taillight does.

The bulb has two filaments in the bulb. One filament is for the brake light and the other is for the tail light. You could simply have a bad bulb with one filament blown. Replace the bulb. This is the most likely situation.

Good Luck
Steve
