Hi my bike starts up then dies then will not restart until i like hit or lift up on the gas tank it didnt start to do it until i got gas yesterday could it be bad gas making it do so ,if so i understand if it had bad gas why it would run bad but why would it not even want to crank over until i lift or hit the gas tank could it be that the ecu/ecu know that the gas is bad octane reading making it read false signals and sutiing the fuel pump of and the reason it wont restart isbc the fuel pump and starter is on the same relay
Hey pal, i got a feeling it's nothing like you think it is...the tank shouldn't lift without removing the bolt or bolts that hold it down...also many bikes have wires that run down the frame under the tank and here i where i think the problem lies....remove your tank completely, fuel lines, fuel guage wires etc... and set tank aside....now carefully inspect where your tank has been vibrating and rubbing on the wires, coils etc that are located there....take your time here as you will undoubtedly find a wire or connection that the tank has been rubbing on and now causing a short circuit......mend,repair, and insulate anything that has been damaged..then carefully reassemble and enjoy your ride....Good Luck to you friend.....Tim
