Will a 1987 Yamaha riva razz start with oil light on while trying to start it

check the oil level. If it is a normal engine lubrication set up the it will require oil pressure to put the light out which means that as soon as it starts or during cranking the light will go out and it will start. If the oil light is an indicator of low oil level then it will not start until you put oil in the emgine . Check the switch for correct opertion.

My 1989 yamaha 200 riva don't want to turn over n

Start by checking the battery. For a wet (lead acid) battery:

VOLTAGE (OCV) STATE OF CHARGE
12.8 100%
12.6 75%
12.3 50%
12.0 25%
11.8 0%

For an AGM battery:

VOLTAGE (OCV) STATE OF CHARGE of AGM Battery
12.7 V 100%
12.6 V 75%
12.3 V 50%
12.0 V 25%
11.8 V 0%

So all batteries are pretty much the same.

Then after seeing what surface voltage you have an recharging if low, the next step would be to get a load test done on the battery and clean and tighten the battery cable attachments at both ends of the cables. If it is not a problem here the next step would be to diagnose the starter and the starter system for which information as to exactly what happens when you activate the starer is necessary
