Most vehicles have a button for the dash and radio to brighten the inside lights. It may have accidently been moved toward dim. It's usually on the left of steering wheel.
The relay contacts get carbon (or burn away) on them from arching and cause a high resistance contact ,thus the dim and not working tach ,lights. Check your grounds, and connections for shorts.
