To access codes

1- Turn Ignition Switch to OFF & Run/Stop switch is to Run.

2- Push odometer reset button in & hold.

3- Turn ignition switch to Ignition and release odometer reset button. Background lighting should illuminate, speedometer needle should sweep its full range and indicator lamps (battery, security, low fuel, check engine and cruise) should illuminate. The word "diag" should then appear.

4 - Push the odometer reset button once and you will see the selection menu "PSSPt" with the first P flashing.

5 - Each letter represents an area of the diagnostics module. The module that is flashing is the one you are going to check. To move from one letter (module) to the next, you push the odometer reset button one time. (from P to S to SP to t and back to P, etc.)
P = ECM/ICM (Electronic Control Module [EFI] / Ignition Control Module [Carbureted])
S = TSM/TSSM (Turn Signal/ Turn Signal Security Module)
SP = speedometer
T = tachometer

To get the DTC within an area of diagnostics, push and hold the odometer reset button in for 5 seconds and release. If there are any DTC's the code will be displayed or the word "none" will appear if there are no DTC's. Push the odometer reset button again to view additional codes if they exist.

1 - Record the codes.

2 - If DTC's are not to be cleared, Press and release the odometer reset button. Part number of module will be displayed.
NOTE: To determine if a code is current or historic, clear the displayed code by pushing in and holding the odometer reset button ( longer than 5 seconds) until 'clear' comes up. Release the odometer reset button. Turn OFF the . Run your bike and shut it down then recheck the DTC's again by repeating steps 1 to 3 If the code is current it will reappear.

4 - Press and release the odometer reset button to continue to the next module.

5 - Turn Ignition switch to OFF.

On models not equipped with a tachometer "No Rsp" will appear when the tachometer identifier is selected.

"No Rsp" will also appear if the run/off switch is in the off position when doing this procedure.

Why does engine warning light keep coming on?

Most common fault is a sensor, possibly the engine temperature sensor or the lambda sensor. You should read you fault codes (DTCs) in a workshop or Google the procedure for "blink code DTC retrieval" . On Daihatsu you can do a lot of things by connecting two specific contacts in the diagnostic connector above the driver legs, then turn ignition on. Like DTCS, coding keys and remotes etc.

Engine warning light , antipolution problem

The engine warning light is indicating there is a fault with one of the multiple electronic systems your car. Your car's computer (PCM/ECM) monitors continuously all functions of the engine and emission systems. You'll need to take it to a shop to have the stored fault code(s) retrieved to start a diagnosis, and it could one, or several codes.

Engin stalls after runninga few miniutes

PHAMTOM ENGINE STALLS
Hello
This engine is fully electronically controlled by computer called the PCM, when problems like this occurred fault code or codes is set in the PCMs memory. What must be done now is to have the memory read to retrieve this fault code. This is called a system scan, the system is called the OBD2 electronic engine control system. Based on the results of the fault codes you perform diagnostics and repair the problem, that can be a sensor, wiring or even in rare cases the PCM has failed.

Engine light comes on in my 2007 Toyota Corolla. engine backfires and smokes after starting. have had trouble starting engine after refueling.

The FIRST step is to scan your engine computer to retrieve fault codes and see why the computer has turned the check engine light on. Without the fault codes, anybody could GUESS what is wrong with your car for weeks and not get it right!

D4 light on no matter what gear i'm in. 95 Honda Accord LX 4-cylinder. Already replaced solinoid, speedometer, fan,

The D4 light is coming on to tell you that there is one or more fault codes set in your transmission control module. The only way to retrieve codes on the 1995 models is to read "Flash Codes" output by the D4 light. (See instructions below)

RETRIEVING FLASH CODES USING THE D4 LIGHT
If fault codes are present, the D4 light will "blink" when the ignition is turned to the RUN position and will remain on at all times when the engine is running.
To retrieve the flash codes, turn the ignition switch off.
Install a jumper wire between the service check connector terminals.
The service check connector is a gray, 2-pin connector located on the PCM/TCM cover under the passenger side of the instrument panel. (See picture below)

CAUTION: DO NOT use the 3-pin located next to the service check connector.

Installing the jumper will place the PCM/TCM in diagnostic test mode.
Turn the ignition to the RUN position. Codes will be output by blinking the D4 light.
Note the number of blinks from the D4 light. A short blink indicates a single digit flash code. A long blink equals 10 short blinks. For instance one short blink indicates code 1. One long blink and four short blinks indicates code 14. If there is more than one fault code, they will be output one at a time from the lowest numbered code to the highest numbered code. It is recommended that you read the code or codes several times to make sure that you are reading it correctly.

Once you have retrieved the fault code(s) re-post your question and include the information for what codes you have and someone can then help you locate the cause of the problem.

My check engine light comes on and off 1995 lasabre

this means a fault is occurring in the engine electronic controls or the emission control system, every time the fault occurs the light is set, when it clears the light goes off, there is a code set in the computers memory of this fault, go to the link below for instructions on how to retrieve that code.

The light on the left of the dash board showing an engine comes on and says check engine which part? What is it warning about?

That is the check engine light. It is letting you know that the computer has identified some sort of circuit/mechanical fault. Take the car to an autoparts store and have them use a scan tool to retrieve any fault code(s) stored in the computer. Most parts stores offer this service free of charge. The fault codes will help identify any problems or potential problems. Sure hope this helps and best wishes.
