Clacking noise when starting out in 1st &2nd.

My 01 sv650 has a clack that repeats in first and second gear. Please someone help me understand what it might be.

You think? See it was doing that when I got it. I changed it, new filter, and put in Lucas 10W 40 for bikes. I was thinking it might be the Primary in the case. I know that I have to change the chain, and sprokets all at the same time, but I need to see if there is an adjustment for the case. Please hit me back, I would like any input possible.

You see it was doing this when I got it. So I thought the same thing, then I went and changed the oil, and filter.(Used Lucas 10W 40 made for Bikes) Yet the problem is still around. I was wondering if it is the primary in the case?
Please let me know what you think, I am open to all the advise that can be given. Again thank you for your input

Probably you need to have your gear box checked. The gears drum selector is a probable cause.

Why does my washing machine make a clacking noise during agitation...it goes clack, clack,

Hi

Clacking noise comes when either the agitator or the transmission or clutch assembly goes bad. To check which part# has gone bad you'll have to open the unit and first check the agitator. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

I have a 2004 bmw 325i and it has a real ruff idle with a clacking noise it sounds like it has a vaccume leak and it will not click into gear. one thing i do no there is a bal valve cover

compression test engine to check top end for problems(clacking noises could mean low oil pressure or level or bad lifters etc). Have the engins smoke tested for any vacuum leaks

Clacking noise at different engine idles on my Yamaha V Star

Lots of bikes make a clacking in the transmission , especially when cold at idle. Basically the engine accelerates and decelerates between each piston firing, and you hear the backlash in the gears slapping back and forth. Without hearing it I can't say for sure, but find someone else with a similar bike and see if it sounds the same.

Runs slow and makes a clacking noise I thing that it needs oiling after 20+ years of use. I have it detached from the stand, but cannot get it to open up to dust it out and oil the moving parts. Any...

It sounds like the brushes are worn out. The sound you hear could be the brush holders making contact with the commutator or it could be a broken brush. Also check gears for wear. Here is a website that has diagrams and parts. Hope this helps.

Canon PC920 paper feed "clacking" & not working.

check the tray and make sure the guides are set correctly, clacking sound is usually because the tray is set for Legal and has Letter, the paper is towards the bac of the tray and the pick up assembly is making the noise,
otherwise the tray is either not going up (broken gear, )
