Kawasaki vulcan 1500 tail light intermittant problem

Tail light only working part of the time. When I turn the ignition switch on, the tail light only works 6 out of 10 times. Works same if I start bike. If I turn the switch to the acc position, it works fine. I think it is probably that the switch needs replacement. What do you think?

Thanks. Already checked for loose connections and light bulbs. Figured it wasn't light bulbs where lights work every time in acc position on switch.

Well i would try the switch and see and if that doesnt work then check the wiring for a loose connection or ground or maybe it could be as ez as checking the light bulb it might be loose in the socket

well then if its easiest enough try replacing the switch or take it to the shop to have it done good luck

2007 Kawasaki 900 Classic Cruiser. The headlights and tail lights not working but brake lights do work.

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved from Cars and Trucks.

It can only be the headlight switch or the wiring.

The brake lights work from power, plus the brake switch and the lamp.

The headlights work from power to headlight switch to the headlight lamp and the tail light lamp.

Apparently the headlight does work via a relay so test that.

My vulcan tail light stays on after with the ignition switched off. What can I do to stop this reoccuring

The ignition switch has three positions. Off at 6 o'clock, on at about 7 o'clock and park at 9 o'clock which will leave the tail light on and also shut the bike off. Just have to make sure when you turn the ignition off that the key is straight up and down.

I need wiring schematics for a 2001 kawasaki vulcan 1500 classic...keep blowing tail light fuse.

Have 2002 Vulcan 1600 Drifter. The tail and brake lights will not work. They were working rear turn signals do. It blew the fuse twice, now it is not blowing the fuse but still no lights. Got power to the fuse and leaving it not arriving at the rear light. The plug in,before it goes inside the rear fender, what color wires are what so I can check if things are arriving there O.K.?
