Clean carb, even put new carb on,no good
Check your jets to make sure nothing is damaged. What type of carburetor? Slide, CV (Slide and butterfly), or Fixed Venturi (Butterfly only) Carburetor? If its a CV check the diaphragm. Also look at your throttle cable routing and make sure it isn't getting caught on anything or routed so tightly the cable can't maneuver through the sheath. If none of that works your fuel mixture screw/idle adjusters all all out of whack and it will need to be adjusted. Cheers!
Testimonial: "Yes first off thanks, we have clean the carb real good, even got a new one, and put it on. Still the same problem, a friend told me it may be the crankshaft seal"
SOURCE: rebuilt carbs-starts and idles but wont rev up without choke on
sounds like the main jets are partly pluged, you must remve all brass jets and seats including needle jet and its slide soak in carb cleaner and blow out with compressed air only.. hold up to bright light to verify if all are clean. jim

ALWAYS have a fire extinguisher on hand when working on carburetors.
Remove the water trap bowl at the bottom of the petcock, (gas valve). Is there any water or trash in the bowl? Drain a cup of gas from the tank. Is there any water or trash in the cup? Dump it, clean it and re-mount it, ( not all bikes have a water trap bowl ).
Drain the carburetor. There should be a screw on the lower side of the carb float bowl. Remove the screw then replace it after the fuel drains. Turn the gas back on and wait a minute for the carb to fill with gas. Install a new stock NGK spark plug and try to start the engine. If the bike doesn't start and run properly then shut off the gas and remove the carburetor from the engine.
Remove the float bowl and clean the entire carb with a spray carb cleaner from the auto parts store. Wear protective goggles to avoid getting spray in your eyes. Spray into all the little airways and fittings in the carb. Before putting the slide back in the throat of the carb, move the clip on the jet needle one notch lower. Put the rest of the carb back together, clean the air filter and install the carb. Let the float bowl fill then start the engine. This process should get you back on the road.

SOURCE: banshee wont rev
Usually related to TORS, specifically the safety switch in the clutch/park brake assembly. If it's defective the engine won't rev. Solution: look for a TORS removal kit.
SOURCE: 2002 YAMAHA BANSHEE WILL NOT REV
I have a 2004 banshee at the yamaha dealer being worked on.It would not run when i took it up there they cleaned the carbs and put it back together it will start but when you rev it, it holds itself wide open and wont shut down unless you pull the plug wires.they also checked the floats in the carbs said they where ok. they think it is a vent issue with the gas tank or the fuel shut off valve.IS THAT POSSIBLE
SOURCE: 2005 kx250f wont idle.will idle fine w/choke
the fact that it idles with the choke on indicates that fuel mixture is the problem here remove the mixture screw completely check that the o ring seal is not damaged & that the end of the needle is not worn or bent if either of these conditions are obviouse replace the damaged or worn parts general rule of thumb with mixture adjustment is 1&1/2 to 2 turns out give it a try
