Hello - the bike is new to me last year. Ran great last summer and this Spring - but noticed that it started to have some problems starting. It would start and then sputter and if I gave it gas - it would seem to ''blow out the cob webs'' and then run just fine. I let it sit for a week while on vacation - and now it won't start. The starter turns over just fine - battery charged up - but it is not even really turning over the motor - not even close to starting. I do smell gas - so I think the carb and full pump are working. I read previous posts to check the fuses and and replace the spark plugs - i see where the fuses are - but not sure where the spark plugs are - any other suggestions before I head out to grab the plugs and check the fuses? Thanks in advance for any help - this is my only ride and I can't afford to tow it down to the shop...
Ok, you said you have spark in one of you comments. The most critical thing on a bike that sits is the fuel. It can go bad in less than six months and cause carb problems if not drained fotr storahe. Make sure your fuel is fresh aand you will be surprised.
The spark plugs are under covers at the top of the cylinders. There is one plug on the back cylinder under a cover on the left side, and one on the front cylinder on the right side. You have to remove 2 10mm screws to take the covers off.
The battery will build up calcium and wont hold enough kick charge to start bike thou the battery will test ok in this instance,, this happens when a bike sits for a while without a start
hpoe this helps
