Hi there, my daytona 675 has been restricted for less than a year and I am now unrestricted. I have removed the restrictor and went to start the bike and it was a bit spluttery for 10 sec then seem to idle fine. The engine management light was on also. A let it heat up a bit then stopped and started it again with no throttle and it spluttered again while just being started. Just wondering if I have done anything wrong or not done something right thanks
SOURCE: engine management light
Engine management light was on permernantly after replacing battery, took advice and let bike idle until thermo fan started, turned bike off and let thermo fan stop, restarted bike and engine management light went off. this proceedure resets engine management system. GREAT ADVICE thanks.

Remove the positive cable from the battery and check the continuity from the loose cable end to the chassis or motor. There should be no continuity with the switch turned off. If you don't have a volt/ohm meter (multi-meter) to test for continuity, try touching the loose battery cable-end to the empty battery post. If there is a spark, a short somewhere is draining your battery. If there is no continuity the most likely thing is that your voltage regulator isn't working or you are not getting voltage generated, causing the battery to run down. The tests I mentioned are assuming that you don't have a clock or something else that are constantly on. If you do have a meter, you should be getting a reading of 14 volts, more or less, between the plus and minus terminals of the battery with the motor running.

ok, first off is that when you "jump a bike" dont jump by car with engine running this can fry major componets second you can try the reboot but I do think you damaged one of the parts
