Further to coming off my Yamaha XJ900F, I am in need of some assistance please. Upon crashing the front right-hand indicator broke off, so does anyone know how to wire a new one in please? I've checked through Google Videos, but can't see any videos there, so any assistance would be much appreciated please.

SOURCE: Honda VT500EF, 1983-1988, flasher unit wiring.
The flasher unit is made to flash 12 volts on and off only. The turn signal switch is what is used to direct that flashing 12 volts to the proper signals.
The flasher unit:
First wire is a ground. Middle wire is the send to the turn signal switch. The last wire is 12v positive (with key on).
When you flip the switch to the left, it makes a connection between the left turn signals and the middle wire of the flasher unit. The flasher unit then "sees' a load and starts flashing 12v on and off at the middle wire. When you flip the switch right, it makes the connection between the right signals and the middle wire of the flasher unit. Again, the flasher unit "sees" a load and starts flashing.

I have an 08 Superglide, my left turn signal doesnt work most of the time, I have found the problem to be the contacts in the switch, generally they need to be cleaned as they are getting a build up of condensation (even if you keep it by your bed!).
To clean the contacts I use eucalyptus oil or metho on a cotton bud.
Hope that helps with your problem.

Removing the indicators is a simple process involving the removal of the fairing to unclip and unplug them from the fairing. The plastic press studs that hold sections of the fairing in place are prone to breaking when you remove them but are easily obtained from your local Yamaha dealer and inexpensive.
SOURCE: how do you lower the
The easiest way to achieve this is to loosen the triple clamp and let the forks slide up towards you. Measure from the top of triple clamp and make sure they are very close to same height. There you have it. Sorry i don't have any videos or instructions other than this.... Good luck and go for it. Make sure you retighten the triple clamp back down!! Usually you can go down about 1 to 2 inches or so. Happy drag racing....HDTV GURU JAY
