Factory recommended plugs are the best. Ask your local dealer, and he will give you the correct plugs. If you are fouling plugs, look for a too rich mixture, or carbs flooding.

I have a 1999 suzuki intruder vs 1400 not getting fire what can i check for before i buy knew parts. is there a way to check the coils

Hi,

Yes, you can test the coil. Remove your plug cable and do test your coil spark on bike ( like frame and engine) while starting your engine. A good coil should has blue spark.

Note : Please be carefully while conducting this test. I suggest you to using hand glove and Plier 1000 Volts.

How do you wire a technometer to a suzuki intruder 1400 to get it to run at 950 - 1050 rpms

the easest way is to rap the wire around the front cylinder spark plug wire, might be off a small amount, but not enough to keep from setting.

My suzuki intruder is missing backfiring on the

Did you sync the two carbs? If not the rear may be getting all the gas from the rear carb and none to the front. Twist throttle engine off and see if front carb cable is pulling the carb open.
Also unscrew the spark plug boot from the front spark plug wire and trim 1/8th inch off the wire and screw the boot back in. The plug wire end may be corroded on that wire.

Bought 1994 Suzuki Intruder 1400. Had sat for 2 years. Put new battery in and now it just tries to start, but won't. Removed plugs and they looked new, but bone dry. Shouldn't they have been wet from...

it sits for 2 years so you have to general check and clean everything, first replace the battery, spark plugs oil filter(if any) have your oil change, clean and balance your carburator and air cleaner, remove your gas tank empty it and clean use new gas, if you can spray an WD40 on all wiring socket then start the bike

Im doing a oil change on a suziki intruder 1400 how many qts do i use a whats a good weight

many people will tell you what way to go, but ultimately it depends on your geographic location, and how hard you are on the bike. like what altitude, average temps..etc.
I would ask the local dealer about different choices, and then use your best judgement.

1996 Suzuki Intruder 1400cc - can't exceed 60mph and runs rough. Think the timings off but I can't find how to check and set it ? 14,000 miles on it.Any possible solutions ?

i thought timing was electronic and when it is off the bike simply will not run---have u looked at air filters--these bikes come stock with a black foam filter which breaks down through time and could either pollute or restrict air flow through carbs. even at only 14000 miles.

Back firing & cutting out

If a stock intruder is running rich it must have a restriction in the air filter or a problem with the carbs. These bike are always way too lean from the factory. Check to make sure the filters are not plugged up. Also if it is truly rich it will start and run well without the choke on. You may have inricheners that need adjusted.
