Just put all settings at mid-range. Then adjust from there for desired softer or stiffer ride.

Turn both the throttle screw and air screw inward until they LIGHTLY seat. Now turn each of them outward 1.5 turns. Whenever cleaning the carb, pay special attention to the items in blue.

SOURCE: i would like to know what kind of gear oil to put in my 06 yz 250

Calls for 10w/30. Any brand of mc specific oil will work. ie: Yamalube or Honda GN4 or the more expensive stuff will all work. On the cheaper side, you can use Type F (only) automatic transmision fluid. Just watch the color and change it when it starts getting dark.

01 motor in 03 frame

for 02 yamaha put the balky yz426f tranny in the yz250's, just for duribility tho....other than that yamaha manufactures might do a slite rejetting, maybe a head compession change, and other small changes. the yz line around that time were great bikes, and still are, so there was really no flaw and nothing really had to be changed because the yz250 of any year was a bulletproof bike. the only flaw i can think of is that these 01 -03 yz"s were only a few years off from having the plug and play aluminim frame, which to me pretty sweet. good luck
