You have left the petcock open, (or you have a bad petcock), and the float stuck open allowing gas to flood the cylinder.

Sounds like your carb is stuck open, dismantle it and make sure the piston is going all the way back down with the pin lined up with the groove.

i would suggest you get the head gasket checked you can get a kit from motor factors which does gas test in header tank if blue liquid changes colour to brown you need to replace head gasket

GOT THE HEATER RUNNING FOR 5 HOURS YESTERDAY BUT WHEN I SHUT IT OFF AND THEN TRIED TO TURN IT BACK ON IT WOULD NOT START. THE RED LIGHT IS BLINKING SLOWLY, IT USUALLY IS ALWAYS ON! BARRY

Hi Barry,

Turn off al power... drain the header manifold. Remove the top cover and remove the pressure sensing line from the pressure switch. Clean out the line and the manifold fitting with a piece of wire. Reinstall manifold drain plug. Reconnect rigid pressure sense line to manifold and pressure switch. Make sure the sense line does not leak or it can cause the unit not to heat at all. Leave the power for the heater off and circulate water for a few minues to flush header manifold then Test the unit. If this does not correct the problem... respond with the complete model number and we can continue troubleshooting.

My truck stalled yesterday a.m. - someone added gas to the carberator and it started right up. Today it won't start at all. I'm thinking it's a fuel injector problem.

It might be but first, is your fuel pump kicking on? Also, a clogged fuel filter can cause this as well. Listen for your fuel pump to kick on. If it doesn't, it might be your pump. We know it is gas related and that is good.

My TL heater series 2, model ESC keeps kicking out after 5 minutes of heating..then kicks back in heats some more.. then repeats on and off cycle

Sounds like the high limits are shutting it off. Does the header on the output plumbing get almost too hot to touch? If so the flo-control disk may be bad or sticking, possible a dirty filter as well, in any case you may have insufficeint flow.

Kick starter

new spring and little ball. My question is were does the little ball and spring go? I tried to get it down where the bolt threads in but no dice. Any help would be great. That's the detent for a fully closed (folded) kick start lever. Look in the splined base which you ordered (female) which fits on the kick lever shaft (which is also splinedbut male) there is the hole where the actual kick start lever fits. This in the same plane as the little indent in the lever it self. Put in the spring, Then the ball on top, press the ball down with a small screwdriver or whatever from one end as sliding the lever in from the other. Once the lever end has started over the ball just push in all the way and turn to engage the lever a couple of times to make sure the detent works. Then slide the unit on as you would any kick start lever. I did this in the field yesterday, so its not difficult. I used an allen wrench to push the ball down. Took maybe a minute. Hope I did not over explain, its pretty obvious if you look at it enough. Good luck.,,,
