06 had trickle charge but had not shut off kill switch. New battery. turned over a few times and then started motor just clicking. Tried to jump from my car and would not start, so tried reversing the cable with positive to ground, no all light work but absolutely nothing when hit starter. Is there a fuse or something I have probably blown? If so, and replace, suggestions on how to start. Can open kill switch drain battery with trickle charger on?

SOURCE: Starting and once started won't run

The problem seem to involve a number of circuits, I would suspect the Key switch as it supplies power to all affected systems. The dieing on release of the clutch is usually the kickstand safety switch. If the kick stand is not up, and the bike in gear, then when the clutch switch detects release is kills the engine so you don't kill your self.
Check or replace these switches.

Hope this is of some help.

replace your battery although you have 12 volts your battery is producing very little amps not even enough to energize your start relay let alone your starter motor

SOURCE: kawasaki vulcan 800 classic will not start now

Sometimes after trying to start a bike with a weak battery the starter solenoid gets damaged,or loose connections develop on the solenoid due to heat.It should be next to the battery.

SOURCE: starter, starter switch and kill switch not working

when he jumped it with the charger he probably fan too much curent through the system witch made a relay stick so when you hit the start button it dosnt shut off the kill switch probably went bad because of it also trace the wires from the start button and find the relay that they go to and check it with a multimeeter how they work is it uses a little amount of curent to controle a big amount

I would try charging the battery. Take it off and put it on a slow trickle charge overnight. Batteries usually only last 3-4 years if it is an acid battery.

My 2001 vulcan 1500 will not start. the indicator lights work but when i try to start it all lights go out for a second then come back on again. battery shows fully charged on trickle charger.

Measure the voltage on the starter side of the solenoid with the kill switch ON and the key ON and the starter switch PRESSED - trans in N. IF it is not 12 volts, it may be faulty.

DEAD BATTERY

Probably. I would remove the battery and take it to a local auto-parts store to have it load tested, or at least test it with a hydrometer after you think it is fully charged. Test methods here.
