Check engine light comes on until engine warms up

Think u hav a computer issue..may need new one or get it reprogrammd..not at a dealer. First tho unplug it and clean the connector pins..it often works on older cars cause of dirt n corrosion

Have you done compression check and also check your vacuum when it warms up. I had the same problem and had to do a valve job. So do a compression check wet and dry. In other words check it dry then squirt oil in cylinder and check it again it it raises up you also might need rings. Good luck.

If the check engine light comes on, then codes are stored. Get the codes read. Don't ask us to guess what codes are stored

Most likely a faulty engine temperature sensor. Sounds like it is stuck reading you engine at normal operating temp and not cold.

Sounds like the ignition switch is going bad and you may need to have the codes read to figure out why the light is coming on to begin with, try Auto Zone , they'll read the codes for free and help you with the replacement parts needed.

2002 7.3, until Temp gauge reaches 1/4 warm, if driving the check engine light comes on, if I leave off throttle check engine light goes out, once engine is up to Temp all runs fine, motor only has 111,113 on it

take it too auto zone for a free scan ,they will tell you the problem!!!

Stop at one of the big autoparts stores and they will scan for free and find out what that code is, to pinpoint cause better and save you money. If cure is not obvious, get back to us with code and we will be glad to help you out.

Check the injectors, as these are a electrical part when the engine warms they may fail, if you are familiure with your engine (i.e. fuel rail and injector plugs) when this happens (i would recomend somewhere safeto puill over) hop out and in turn unplug your injectors with the enigine stillrunning, if you unplug one and the engine tone/noise does not change you have found the culprit.

have somebody scan it and see what the code is first, sounds like an idle control valve, vacuum leak or egr valve
