My battery is not charging when bike is running (gsxr 600 k6 )

My battery is not charging when bike is running.how do i test the regulator,what voltage should i be looking for.what about the alternator,the voltage does not increase when i rev the bike just slowly decreases until flat.thanks for any advice..jazz

When you put a voltmeter across the battery terminals, you should get >13.5V (typically) with the engine running. 
If less than this then your charging system is faulty and your battery will not charge. 
See this personally authored thread for a diagnostic guide on how to determine whether you have a problem with your stator or Rectifier/Regulator - inlcuding some cold resistance checks you can do on the R/R to determine if it is shorted.

I have a 2001 Suzuki GSXR 600. It suddenly lost power while I was riding. I put a new battery in but after about 20 miles lights started going dim. Had someone tell me it is my alternator. Where is it at...
Bikes don't actually have alternators. The charging system on a bike has a generator and a regulator/rectifier. The generator might cost you a little bit but the regulator/rectifier won't cost a lot. Chances are one of those went bad which creates a large power draw and doesn't allow your battery to charge. Seems like it's a regular occurance with the K1's. I would suggest getting a repair manual and fixing it yourself. Might take you a day or two but it'll save you a lot in labor.

Two possibilities. 10 the battery is weak. 2) the battery charging voltage regulator is not charging the battery.--------- Most probably voltage regulator is the cause of problem.But get both the battery and regulator bench tested by local garage.--------Om some cases both battery and regulator checks out faulty, so both needs to be replaced.-------------

Went to put gsxr 600 k7 away and stalled it then had no power not even lights
Sounds like your battery has become disconnected or is damaged (dead) or isn't charging from the bike.
Try putting a charger on the battery overnight and see if you have lights in the morning.
If you do, then measure the voltage at the battery before and after starting the bike.
If the voltage is the same or less after starting, then there's something wrong in the charging circuit.
This could be a regulator, or rectifier etc.
If the voltage DID go up after starting, then it may be time to replace the battery.

I start my bike runs fine for a while then as it gets warmed up the warning light comes on and it throws a ''5d'' or ''sd'' code and the battery dies.....it is a 2009 suzuki gsxr 600.... im lost
take it bake to the the dealership i just bought a new 09 gsxr 750 and there is a recal on the bikes charging system.

Bike runs but when i try to start it the battery is dead
Do a voltage test at the battery to see how it is charging, it sounds like it is not... You should charge at 14.5 volts. Start the bike with the voltmeter connected and see what it does for voltage drop and see how it recovers after it is started. If it doesn't come up in voltage possible regulator rectifier or worse case bad stator.

Suzuki gsxr k6 600 fuel injectors problems The F1 light has come on when I started the bike up it alternates between the temp and F1 I have not started the bike in a while 1 month
The display is really FI as in Fuel Injection. The fuel injection computer has sensed a fault in the Injection system. You will need to ride the bike to a dealer and have them read the fault codes. It is probably just something minor. Major faults will not allow the bike to run. You will not hurt the bike if you ride it.

My 2008 gsxr 600 that i bought 2 days ago is running off of battery only not recharging while running. bike shuts down when battery is dead can push start but soon dies again also shows SD on the display...
Its nothing to do with the damper
The battery may not be accepting charge due to its age or condition (although as u can bump it soon after it sounds ok). Check this out with a charger & meter
There may be a bad or dirty connection somewhere between the alternator & regulator/rectifier or from there to the battery
It could also be a defective alternator winding or regulator/rectifier unit
