check if a spark is coming when you turn the engine and continue from there, if yes then fuel is not getting in the engine. If no start by changing the spark plug and move from there.

The TS 125 was a great little engine and although not the most basic of 2-stroke designs, they aren't the most complex by a long way.

I suggest you try and find a repair manual so you can do your best for what was a great little bike.

The fact it is firing when you introduce fuel into the combustion chamber indicates the engine has upper compression and the ignition system is producing a spark at approximately the right time so there are three things on the list of requirements ticked off.

What it obviously doesn't have is induction drawing fuel from the carb and delivering it to the combustion chamber. If the fuel tank, filter, fuel tap and fuel line is ok, the fuel fresh and the carb clean then induction must be possible so if it isn't happening it is likely something is wrong in the crankcase preventing crankcase compression and a good and strong induction pulse - perhaps the crankshaft seals are perished or defective in some way?

Hi, the standar for the air/gas screw is 1 & 1/2 turn out from total screw in. Start from there and then you only need minor adjustments. As for the 5 min ride and then nothing, check you fuel suply, start with the buoy level inside the carb.

Clean your carb and replace your spark plug that should fix the problem.

Initially, check for pulsating voltage on the black/yellow wire from the magneto to the ignition coil. Additionally, temporarily disconnect the black/yellow wire to the ignition switch.

Perhaps a wiring diagram would be of additional help.

You would have to buy a service manual for that bike and the wiring diagram would be on the back page you might find some at ebay.com

as with any problem you need a clymer book for your bike or you can disconnect the wiring harness(all of them one at a time)turn the key on and use a volt meter to make sure you are getting power.does the engine turn over?

is it getting fuel? try tipping a very small amount of fuel down rhe plug hole, replace the plug if it fires you have a carb problem.
