Any modifications to the air box will cause mixture changes. You may need to re jet the carburetors to compensate.

SOURCE: Suzuki vs800 intruder dies after about a mile!

Sounds like water in the gas. ALWAYS have a fire extinguisher on hand when working on carburetors.
For each carb > Drain the carburetor. There should be a screw on the lower side or bottom of the carb float bowl. Remove the screw then replace it after the fuel drains. Turn the gas back on and wait a minute for the carb to fill with gas. If the bike doesn't start and run properly then shut off the gas and remove the carburetor from the engine.

Remove the float bowl and clean the entire carb with a spray carb cleaner from the auto parts store. Wear protective goggles to avoid getting spray in your eyes. Spray into all the little airways and fittings in the carb.
Put the carb back together, clean the air filter and install the carb. Let the float bowl fill then start the engine. This process should get you back on the road.

SOURCE: suzuki gsxr 400 gk76 which ht leads go where from coils

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Almost always on Suzuki 4 cylinders, the left (when seated) igntion coil supplies cylinders 1 & 4 while the right ignition coil supples 2 & 3.

Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.

SOURCE: 1983 suzuki gs 750 New airpods and jets. Bike not running right

You are dealing with Suzuki vacuum carbs, you cannot just replace the air box and re-jet. What you are running into is there is no pressure to raise the diaphragm because there is no restriction to create such vacuum. Either put the stock box back on or go to the biggest main jets you can buy. Sometime even when you get stage 3 jets you still have issues. Vacuum carbs are not made to run with no restrictions.....putting aftermarket exhaust on it will make things much worse.

Ive got new coils but one bad plug wire but no spark to any cylinder that wouldnt short the whole motor would it?

No, one bad plug wire would not stop the others sparking. Does your bike have points, if so I can help as I have a wiring diagram.
Go through the obvious first, check all connection are clean and secure, esp in the area where you have fitted the coils. Did you change the coils as the bike didnt run before? or was it just running poorly?

1979 Suzuki GS750 won't start. new plugs, only getting spark with 3 at of 4. Does anyone know what might be the problem?

HI THATS ODD TO HAVE 3 SPARKING, AS THE IGNITION COILS ON THE OLD GS WERE 1COIL FOR 2 CYLINDERS IE 1&4 CYLINDERS USED 1 COIL AND 2&3 USED THE OTHER , SO IF YOU ARE GETTING A SPARK AT EITHER OF THESE THAT MEANS THE COIL IS WORKING, ON THE COIL THAT IS ONLY GIVING A SPARK AT 1 PLUG SWAP THE PLUG OVER AND SEE IF IT THEN SPARKS IN THE OTHER CAP THIS WILL ELIMINATE THE PLUG, IF THE PLUG THAT WAS SPARKING IN THE OTHER LEAD NO LONGER SPARKS IN THE OPPOSIT LEAD THEN OBSERVE THE LEAD REMOVE THE CAP AND EARTH THIS OUT WHILE YOU TURN OVER THE ENGINE, THIS WILL ELIMINATE THE CAP,

| have a Trike with a gs850 g suzuki engine. It needs rewiring so where do i start. Its not so much the charging system but the wiring to the accessories has been mucked around with. What wire do i use can...

The simple answer is yes it can be done - and it need not be a nightmare. You need to teach yourself a little more about how the GS engine runs - stator- r/r - ignightor - timing - coils - plugs. It may well be that a loom from the same engine would be helpfull, but it will require some mods to avoid some of the GS wiring pitfalls, which is why we GS owners modify them to give maximum power to the coils for full spark.
