Today While i was riding i realized that my bike had a considerably high rpm, when i changed up gears it was staying at 5000 rpm, then i stopped and it was sitting at 12000 rpm, anyone had this problem or know what could be wrong?
SOURCE: Idols to high
There should be an idle adjustment located behind one of the side fairings, its usually a black dial mounted to the case somewhere low.
SOURCE: my 1997 dirt bike wont start
check for fuel fire and compression
if you have all of those check the reeds
SOURCE: Backfiring
Hi, maybe its the same problem i had, i have a 1200 goldwing where your spark plug are there are holes if these become clogged the water stays there and causes backfiring, get a metal welding rod or steel coat hanger and push through the hole to clear the water, hope this helps good luck.
regards Mark
SOURCE: RPM is high around 3000. How to reduce it?
see carburator, there is screw to decrease or to increase rpm of motorcycle.
SOURCE: bike loses power in the mid rpm range
Try the air filter first (make sure it's clean). The needle valve on your carb slider could be bent, or not seated correctly or just set wrong. If you have a power exhaust valve, it could be set wrong or malfunctioning as well. Good luck.
