SOURCE: my 1982 Honda goldwing clutch will not disengage

Try adjusting the cable slack at the back of the motor. If there is still not enough tension in the system you may have a worn cable housing and you will have to replace the cable assembly. Sometimes the lever hole (where the cables attach) and the hole where the mounting bolt for the lever wear out of round. You may find replacing the lever and the mounting bolt will also help the clutch work more smoothly.

Hydraulic clutch is not disengaging, when put into 1st gear the engine conks out. Replaced the master cylinder and bled the line - still conks out. Do I need too replace the slave cylinder or what?

as per your description problem not clutch since able to start in gear and drive without stall problem sounds more like a fuel delivery not the clutch

98 golf clutch pedal went to the floor. Car would not engage any gear. Fixed cable so pedal now feels good but still won't engage I can move gear lever any where, release pedal but nothing happens.

What do you mean when you say you fixed the cable. It sounds like the cable broke and you replaced it. Is that correct. If so, did you adjust the free play in the clutch pedal to the manufacturers specification. If you have not done this correctly the clutch will either not disengage, or no engage properly. From your description it appears as though there is n free play and hence the clutch is staying disengaged even when you release the clutch pedal. If this is the case, then try lengthening the cable until the clutch pedal moves with say 25 mm of free movement before anything happens, and try again.

The Clutch on some bikes will disengage the starter motor. Yamaha will not allow you to engage gear when the side stand is down. Hope this gives you some idea

98 jetta wolfsburg. Clip that hold cable to arm broke. When replacing the clip I had to jack up the clutch arm with a bottle jack to hook up the cable. The cable will not let the arm drop down where it...

It has a plastic Ratchet style gear at the pedal end of the cable that has to be released. This gear automatically adjust the clutch when the pedal is pressed. Never put a jack against a clutch arm. You will probably have to disengage the cable to reset the ratchet gear. Don't strip the teeth on the gear
