I need to know the location of the engine number on a 2010 Ford Ranger Diesel motor so I can get registration organised (bought it interstate and need to get a police check done confirming the engine number) - I havent got the books that come with the car which show where the engine number is located on the block.
SOURCE: oil pressure sensing switch location
The oil switch is located on the passenger side of the truck in the back of the engine. Look for the transmission dipstick, then feel for it between the transmission dipstick and the engine block. It is hidden pretty well, but a socket wrench will fit to take it off. The new part uses a 1-1/16 socket, the old part for some reason was smaller, I think 13/16 inch. Hope that helps.
SOURCE: location of block heater cable on 05 F350 diesel
The block heater is already installed in your 6.0. The cord may not be there as it is an option in some states and standard equipment in others. The best way to see if your cord is there is to crawl under and look up by the # 4 cyl and you will either see 2 prongs sticking out for the cord or you will see the cord. The cord should end in the front bumper behind where the front tag would be. If you dont have the cord Id suggest getting it off ebay as it should be cheaper than the dealer. Hope this helps.

Engine Heated oxygen and catalyst monitor sensors—2.3L engine
SOURCE: where is the ignition module control located on 1996 ranger 2.3 e
It does not have an ignition control module. The PCM (powertrain control module) fires the coil pack based on signal it recieves from the crankshaft position sensor and the camshaft position sensor.
