2004 sprinter 2500 fails to start and displays starting error, when this happens, usually the remote entry system using the key won't work either. Engine will not crank. wiggling the positive battery cable has caused a clicking sound, and then engine started normally. this problem has been intermitant and no definite diagnostics seem possible. This spinter has a second battery installed after purchase by a non-dodge dealer shortly after purchase and has run fine up until last November when this trouble started...Screamer module checks ok. If anyone has any ideas about what this problem is, please, please contact me at [email protected]. Thankyou in advance for your consideration.. current mileage when trouble started was 360K. This has been a very good van except for this problem...please help...mel 563-940-6659

I know it sounds simple but I would replace both the battery cable ends with quality new ones or replace both positive and negative battery cables with the new ends attached. Hope this helps.

Check your fuses and capacity of batteries.
If the voltage of your batteries is down everytime check if there isnt a bug in your relay for preheating diesel engine.
This start / error could be if the voltage drops to much on starting the engine.
In my case there where a short-circuit in electric.

I have 2008 Sprinter 2500 (3.0 diesel) . it's been in an accident, after i fixed it, it won't start. Something doesn't let it do it. Does anybody know if I should reset the whole system at

the sensor keeping it from starting it is an inertia switch. it is a safety feature in case the vehicle rolls or is wrecked etc... it cuts the power to the fuel pump. generally it is located in the trunk of cars or in your case probably near the kick panel on the passenger side. usually has a button to pus to reset

I HAVE A 2004 KIA AMANTI AND IT WON'T LET ME IN AND THE BATTERY IS DEAD HOW CAN I GET INTO THE CAR FROM THE OUTSIDE WITHOUT THE REMOTE OR KEY? I ALSO CAN NOT GET UNDER THE HOOD.

This sounds all to familiar. I was an owner of one of these 2004 amantis as well. If youre 100,000+; sell it before the real problems start. Its a design flaw; I just about flipped when mine did this so I have been there. Only way is to slim jim the door and then pop the hood& pray for power after jumping. The key in the door wont work bc its electric; same goes for key faub, all keyed entry doors,& the trunk! I dont know what these guys were thinkin or smoking when they designed this model. Good luck!

Why won't my 2008 Chrysler Aspen start?

You have 2 issue going on. Its not seeing a valid key,and it is starting with the remote.Your remote entry key did it happen to get wet? Or moisture get in? Lock the vehicle up using the key. enter the vehicle using the key fob. After the vehicle unlocks you have 60 seconds to enter the vehicle insert the key in the ignition start it up.Your remote start up is out of step.

2004 Hyundai Elantra won't start, emergency flashers keep blinking, can't shut off, lights dim, can't jump start, clicking from under dash from relays. What could it be?

The 'Keyless Entry & Burglar Alarm System" is activated. You must 'Disarm' the system using the Keyless Entry Remove (Key Fob) to "Reset" the system. The reason the engine won't start is due to the burglar alarm - it has a "Starter Kill" circuit which is activated when the alarm is activated. The alarm must be DEactivated to DEactivate the 'Starter Kill' circuit.
Another way to start the engine is to get in the car, put the key in the ignition and turn it to 'ON" and wait 3 to 5 minutes until the emergency flashers stop/turn off. Afterward, you should be able to start the engine. NOTE: This does NOT reset the burglar alarm. It will go off again when you enter the vehicle without using the remote/key fob.

I have a 2004 Sprinter. When I first purchased this used van, all was good.By the third day I experienced a no start condition that lights up security code on the dash. Disconecting the battery and...

I would try replacing the vehicle battery. A low or shorted battery can wreak havoc with your computer system. I have seen them cause no-starts when interrior lights, ect look fine. When the system is doing goofy things like you are describing, it is usually caused by a bad/shorted battery or losse/corroded battery cables.

Poeple tend to forget that NOTHING works properly if the battery is not working properly.

2004 DODGE RAM 2500 WON'T START. LIGHTS AND EVERYTHING ELSE COMES ON, SEEMS LIKE IGNITION IS LOCKED OUT. MY DAUGHTER WAS PLAYING WITH THE REMOTELSS ENTRY PRIOR TO THIS. NOT SURE IF IT IS RELATED.

Unles its an aftermarket alarm system, which requires a turn-off switch or just pressing the brake pedal upon starting, you shouldnt have a prob w/ a factory remote. However, it could be the starter has gone out, a coil over plug is gone. Check your fuses to see if any are blown. Good luck!
