Check the thermostat, wich usualy causes such problems as fridge isn't cooling. And the fan itself only blows the cool breeze so it prevents from frost.

Yes, digg it to the fans at this point, first, lets make the fans working, especialy fridge fan as it might solve it a well. I can't find the same appliance in my workshop, so we're gonna work with similar one. In this case I won't be able to tell exactly how to locate exact parts, as I'm refering to different model. But I'll do my best to help you.
So get to the wires of the evaporator fan, and we'll try to check if it's working
Dissconnect the PC board connector from the board
get the spare power cord, and connect the power cord to the motor. One wire to the #1 terminal (white wire), other to the #11 terminal (Blue wire green tracer).
Plug the cord to the socket outlet, and if motor is turning we gonna dig deeper, if not, then you'll need the replacement motor.

I just check the parts list again and it says the defrost thermostat is nla which I think stands for no longer available . do you have any suggestions ? Maytag model MTF1895AEQ

. I can't find a part call thermostat on the parts list . I am a 52 year old woman who tries to fix things on her own . Sometimes I get lucking with alittle help like help from this forum. Also what would make the evaporator fan not work. Is It tied in with the thermostat. Maytag Fridge model MTF1895AEQ Thank you.
