I consider that the problem is in the clutch operation
when stationary and gear selection or in your case neutral selection is difficult , that indicates that the input shaft is still being driven by the engine
That indicates that the clutch needs adjusting or possible that the wrong oil is being used in the clutch area and it is making the clutch plates drag or sticking together
At this point I would suggest that you check the adjustment and clearance and then change the oil, in the clutch area , flush and refill with the correct oil as recommended by the manufacturer
It is not gear oil or engine oil but a special oil for clutch use
I had the same problem with the latest firmware (Version 250). It was working perfectly earlier but this problem arose suddendly. I fixed it after many days by installing an older firmware (Version 245 in my case) and then installing the latest firmware again (Version 250).
You can install the firmware by going to:
Menu > Settings > Advanced > Firmware Update > All Firmware vers. > (select firmware version) > Install
Please make sure that you don't loose power and internet to your base station during the update. Also, your handset should be fully charged.
In desktop right click on your My computer icon --> Click on manage -->In that select Disk Management-->select the free space box right click and create the partition.

Assuming you are using XP, Vista, or 2000 you can format it as a NTFS drive. while a lt of folks do not like Vista, this is one area where it really shines.
Plug in your WD PASSPORT.
Bring up the START menu -> right click COMPUTER-> select MANAGE -> select STORAGE ->select DISK MANAGEMENT.
Find the dive -> select/highlight the WD PASSPORT -> right click and select FORMAT. make sure to format as an NTFS drive. Depending on the size of the drive this might take a while - so go have dinner and a movie.
