There is a screw on the side of the lower unit, you remove this screw, fill with proper lubricant and then hold the bike upright, it will then overflow to the proper level.

What is the oil/fuel ration for a Husqvarna model 234 e chain saw? I recently purchased the saw new, but only the instruction manual to assemble the case was enclosed. Thank you. Don

With Husqvarna two stroke oil it should be 50-1, with other manufacturers two stroke oil it is 25-1 as we do not know the quaility of other oils, always try to use Husqvarna oil.

My oilpan is leaking plus i need to know where to put the tranny oil when i chang the oi

You didn't say what year and model your bike was but the oil pan has gasket on it and I don't think it's too difficult to replace provided you have a way to raise the bike off the ground safely. Go to http://www.bikebandit.com and look up your bike. You can even order the parts you need from them as well. To check or add oil to the transmission, look at the chrome end cap on the transmission. There is a plug that takes a large hex key or Allen wrench to remove. It has a dipstick on it as well. The transmission takes 20-24 ounces of oil.

Need to know how to change tranny fluid in 2002 fatboy.

Since I don't work on the later model bikes, I'm not certain when Harley changed the location of the transmission drain plug. On your model, there should be a drain plug on the bottom of the transmission. If not, it's a small pipe plug located just below the chrome end cover of the transmission behind the exhaust pipes. The difficulty in getting to the plug when it's located on the side of the transmission is one of the reasons Harley moved the drain plug to the bottom of the transmission. Drain the oil and then remove the large plug from the chrome end cap on the right side of the transmission to refill it. The plug takes a large Hex key or Allen wrench to remove it, 3/8" on the earlier models. Fill the transmission with 20-24 ounces of transmission lubricant or H-D Syn3 20W50 synthetic engine oil.

Good Luck

How much oil I have to put inside the engine??

Most 900-1000cc sport bikes require 3.8 qts depending if you are also changing the oil filter or not (which I would recommend also if you do buy the filter pay the extra few $ for the Honda oil filter wrench that comes with the filter, it makes the allot easier and also works on all Honda models as well as most other model bikes with that style oil filter...but remember only a quarter turn past hand tight or so should do the trick, you don’t need to go crazy)...If you are not changing the filter it will take a little less...most likely around 3 qts depending oh how much is trapped in the oil filter sill

Buy 4 quarts. Put 3 in and run the bike for about a min or two at idle to let the oil circulate as well as heat up and expand. Then shut the bike off and let it sit for another 5 min, then if needed have a friend hold the bike upright or do it yourself if your confident (but don’t him or sit with weight on the seat or bike or it will affect ride height and in turn oil level)

Then add oil as needed, to fill it to just under the top of the 2 oil marks (leaving a little room for the still cool oil to expand)

Then make sure everything is clean and your oil drain bolt is tight and take it for a small 5 min test ride...then check the oil again.... and you should be just where you want it

Bought a 2004 CBR600 RR how do i check and add oil

Oil should be changed every 2 to3K miles. Anytime i buy a used bike i drain the oil right away cause u never know what might be in there...I recommend Castrol Syntec Actevo 10-40 wt. motorcyle oil..buy 4 qts...Put bike level on level ground and after you have drained oil and spun on a new filter...put in 2 qts...then check dipsticks (crisscroos marks on bottom of dipstick should be covered in oil when oil is full) slowly top off checking dipstick frequently so as not to overfill...proper dipstick check is to unscrew stick, wipe it off and reinsert without screwing it in, when oil is to top of crisscross you are full...My friends 2002 F4 has a sight glass NOT a dipstick so incase that's what you have watch oil level in sight glass (should be 1/2 to 3/4 full) Drainplug is under engine and is 17 mm...Good Luck to you friend....Tim

Hi there, i own an '03 husqvarna sm 450 r, want to change the engine oil but dont know much i will need, i dont want to run short any assistance will be great Thanks, Dylan

Hi Dylan
Oddly, only the transmission oil volume is mentioned in the owners manual, and it appears that the engine and the transmission share the same oil, and require the same 10-60w oil, so I am assuming that is the as listed in the manual  holds 1.41litres (1.48 USquarts or 48 ounces),  You can download the manual by right clicking on   on this  here. and "save file as"   When yo changing the oil, don't forget to clean the filters when changing the oil. Page 100 has details in the manual. Details on the fill level are also in the manual. Hope this has helped. A FixYa rating  is a great reward for looking into this for you. Cheers!
