First, make sure the wheels are straight with a visual check.
The boss/ centre of the steering wheel should be removed to reveal the retaining bolt.. Get somebody to bold the steering wheel whilst the bolt is loosened off and then remove the steering wheel. You may need to give it a thump with a rubber mallet or
something similar to losen it from it's seat.
Ensuring the frontwheels are still straight reattach the wheel and tighten it to the specified torque
Two steps:
1) Inside the car under the rear seats there is a carpet flap that needs to be lifted, under it you will find a plastic lid. Remove the plastic lid under which you will find the fuel lines and electrical cables for the fuel pump and fuel gauge, remove all. Noting exactly which fuel line went where. You will have to remove all the fuel in the tank. Siphon it off or if only a little is left you can do it in the next stage.
2) Jack up car at the rear on both sides. The fuel tank is held by two metal straps that can be released with two bolts. Losen bolts without removing them completely then loosen all hoses and check that the tank is empty. If it is empty place jack under the tank (with wood to spread the load) and take the weight then remove the bolts so that the straps are free. Slowly let the tank down.
usually fitted with security bolts at the factory...the heads snap off when first tightened. Usual method is to remove the top yoke...drill the bolts out...re-tap the threads...then fit new bolts.
OK, This worked well for me. Easier than some solutions I read on the internet. This method does not require getting under the car. 1. Loosen the 17mm bolt on the belt tensioner pulley. 2. Turn the tension screw (10mm) conuter clockwise to losen the belt. 3. Remove the Serpentine belt. 4. Drain and remove the radiator. Catch the coolant, filter and reuse. 5. Remove the negative battery cable from the battery. 6. Remove the battery cable from the alternator and uclip the control connector. 7. Remove the top alternator support bolt. 8. Losen the bottom alternator support bolt. It will not come out. The support bracket is a slot, not hole. The alternator bolt and all will slide out of the slot directly toward the front of the car. 9. Lift the alternator out between the engine and AC condensor. 10. Reverse the procedure to install the new alternator.
you must remove front prop (if 4 wheel drive) 8mm bolts after removeing half the bolts put transfer in nutural turn the prop and remove rest of bolts,. prop will compress and can be moved out of the way. be sure battery is disconnected.starter is held on with 15mm bolts losen these and the 13mm and 8mm electrical connectorbolts starter can now be removed reverse procedure to install.
TO REPLACE THE ALTERNATOR YOU WILL HAVE TO DISCONECT THE BATERY AND RAISE AND SUPORT THE CAR FROM THE FRONT LEFT END AND REMOVE THE TIRE AFTER THAT LOSEN OF THE ALT BELT BY LOSENING AND REMOVING A SHORT 12MM HEAD SCREW ON THE ALT ADJUSTER ON TOP AND LOSENING AND REMOVING A LARGE 14MM HEAD SCREW ON THE BOTTOM AFTER THAT PRAY THE ALT WITH A BIG FLAT HEAD SCREWDRIVER AFTER THAT TAKE OF THE ALT SUPORT TO LET THE ALT COME DOWN THE SUPORT IS BOLTED TO THE ENGINE BLOCK WITH 2 SHORT 14MM HEAD SCREWS, AFTER THAT YOU CAN TAKE OF THE ALT CONECTOR AND B+ CABLE NOW YOU CAN REMOVE THE ALT . INST INVERSE
To replace the sepentine belt: Get a 9/16 socket with a extension. Look under the car and look for the oil filter. Next to the oil filter you will see a bolt. Use the sock and losen the bolt. This will losen the tensioner. You will notice the bolt coming out, push the bolt up and the tensioner will allow you to remove the belt.
Losen the top and bottom bolts on the alternator and tilt or rotate the alternator up (top goes backwards) to losen the top serpentine belt. Once there is slack, remove the belt (don't forget to take note of the routing of the original belt.
