Check for any blown fuses or relays, check the starter switch to make sure power is going into the switch and out to the starter solenoid, if there is power coming from the switch to the solenoid but the starter wont turn you will have to have the starter checked or replaced.

SOURCE: starting problems

I would start by checking your starter switch, ignition, the starter relay and then the kickstand saftey switch. There is a few things that happen when you start the bike. One, you depress the starter switch, the headlight shuts off, the starter relay closes and the bike starts. I'm not sure how or what creates this but I bet there is a relay somewhere along the line that cuts power to your headlight when you start the bike and its faulty and is causing both of the problems. It may stuck somewhere in the middle instead of open or closed. I would also suggest jumping your starter relay to see if it starts. If it doesnt, then it must in your ignition switch. Find your starter relay, there should be one red wire leading to it, another leading away. Very important... make sure your bike is in neutral.. the starter will fire not matter what. Take flat headed screw driver and connect the two post. It should fire right up. If it does, the lights should come on. It may be just enough to get that stuck relay unstuck.

SOURCE: my radio on my82 honda goldwing dont have sound

There are several possibilities. First, if the clock and cassette door are affected, it is a low voltage feed issue.. bad connectors, corroded terminals, etc. This voltage feed is from the 5 amp fuse in the very bottom of the relay box to the right of the main fuse block (i.e. not in the main fuse box).. clean check this fuse... If the low volume is FM only, it is internal to the radio.. in this case, another symptom is that the search/seek feature never locks on a station.. Typically this is a problem with a component on the board.. only place I know that works on them is Sierra Electronics in Troy Ohio, but others probably exist..

SOURCE: 1981 honda goldwing wont start

while trying to start an engine, and only the solenoid clicks, there are these 3 things- no juice from the battery, starter corroded contacts(the big cables) or starter is shot. so first make sure the battery is charged, next make sure the cable mounts from battery to starter are clean(no rust), if that is all good and doesnt start , remove starter and have it tested.

SOURCE: my radio on my82 honda goldwing dont have sound

(Better1969) is correct. I just bought a 1983 Aspencade and there was no sound to my speakers. The gentleman I bought the bike from supplied new speakers but I quickly ruled that out. There are 3 fuse links behind the left turn signal in the fairing. 1 was a 1 amp, 1 was a 2 amp and the blown fuse was a 5 amp. I didn't have a 5 amp so I put a 2 amp in its place. So far the sound is still working but my FM radio reception is very poor.

Odometer won't work unless headlights turned off, radio lights dim, blinker won't blink all the time now battery light comes on but battery tests good. Intermittent issues getting worse. Horn

You probably have a bad ground in the electronic instrument cluster, or cluster connection to wiring harness. I would recomend you have a qualified auto tech diagnose it. It is not a easy fix.

Power on but my 2000 ford ranger will not start

Replace battery terminals and/or clean battery posts. Horn and radio don't use as much juice as starting. Sounds like a lack of amperage or electrical pressure to push the starter motor. Also check battery. Needs 12 or more volts and about 600 or more cranking amps.

Time to wander through the spaghetti of wires and contacts with voltmeter looking for a closed circuit to ground. Sounds like the radio is where to start.

My 2003 Galant will not start , clicking but does not start. Checked battery and its good. What would I check next? starter ? spark plugs?

I would still say is the battery. You can only check a battery with a hygrometer or a load resistance meter which simulates a load similar to a starter and then gives a volt reading. Operating lights and horns is not a reliable battery test. If the dash lights dim significantly when you try start and hear the clicking, that is a better check of the battery condition.

1985 Toyota Pickup Horn

Probably the switch in the steering wheel, or fuse, but usually horn fuse works other things too such as cig lighter or radio. If everything else is working fine, then to troubleshoot you'll need a testlight. I would start with the wiring harness where the steering collumn plugs in and decipher which wire is the horn wire. Put the test light clip on +power, then check the wires on the collumn side one by one, pushing the horn button on each one. The horn switch is the wire that makes the light blink when you push the button. If you try all the wires and none make the light blink, then its probably a problem with the horn switch in the s. wheel. Does it have an after market steering wheel? Because aftermarket wheels often have crappy horn switches in them. Also could be a horn relay if it has one. If you listen carfully while pushing the horn, you should hear the relay faint clicking. If you hear this, then the switch is working, but the relay might not be. Follow the sound to find it if you hear it. Test all sides of the relay with your light. Should get power constant on one term, and the other two should light when the horn button is pushed. Hope this helps. Cheers.
