Sounds like the drive from the gearbox not connecting or the clutch not releasing.

2010 crf450r jumping outta gear from 5th to 4th all other gears work fine

Terrence >>>> 1. Do not go through the gears while idling on a stand!!!
The rear tire is not moving at the speed that is normal for 4th or 5th gear..AND if you do get the tire moving that fast.. it is BEYOND DANGEROUS!!
This sounds like the 4th and 5th gears may need replacing.. or the shift drum detent for 5th gear has somehow become ineffective.. If you continue to ride this bike , you may cause more trouble and damage to the transmission.

Take this to a qualified professional!!

I replaced the rear tire & chain slider on my 2002 triumph america & now i have a growl type vibration from 20-30 mph. all other speeds and the bike runs smooth. chain & rear wheel appear to be...

did you get the wheel and tire Dynamically balanced at the bike shop, if not , Do, check tire pressure , yes its possible and it might make a noise if installed backwards.
new tires make funny noises , but sounds like balance issue

I have a Huffy bike with a 48cc motor on it. The chain hits my fenders and now keeps popping off

which chain is falling off. the one from the motor? if so check to make sure the sproket (ps i cant spell) and gear fom motor is lined up. on mine i remember having to flip the rear sproket. are you using the chain tenchiner pulley? i think the one that comes with the kit dosnt have a deep enough gruve. i got rid of it all together, and just made the chain fit with like 1.5 to 3 inches of play. ive seen people use the tenchiner from the rear shifting gear on a mountain bike. thats what i suggest. if its the chain from your pedals thats falling of the the guys from the bike shop are messing with you or the alined the wrong chain. or maybe you need to resize the chian they just got the wheel straight.

Have an 86 eagle wagon that daughter drives. I was driving fine, then one day going to work and going about 65-70 mph, it just quit going, like you had shifted the tranny into neutral(3 spd auto)...

Jack up the rear tires. Put the car in gear. Do the rear tires spin? If no check to see if the driveshaft is turning. , if no, then you will have internal transmission problem. Also check to see if the shifter to the transmission became disconnected.

1991 harley ulra classic has stock heads but adjustable pushrods with no colors. how do i adjust before firing motor

Hello
I hope this helps out.
the 2 long push rods are the exhaust and the 2 short ones are the intake.
jack up the bike so the rear tire is off the ground.
put in 5th gear so you can turn over the motor by turning the back tire.
it takes 2 people, one to turn the tire and the other to be looking at the lifter to make sure it is at its lowest point.
you should have all push rods in but very loose.
start with the rear exhaust and then rear intake then front intake then front exhaust.
turn the motor over with back tire, looking at the lifter, watch to see it get to its lowest point.
when it is at its lowest point, stop turning the tire.
now tighten up the push rod so you can spin it but no up and down movement.
now tighten to push rod specs(factory or aftermarket have # of turns or flats to turn)
yours should be 3 turns, but check your manual specs or call dealer and ask how many turns for that year just to make sure.
after 3 turns the push rod will be tight. You have to wait about 15-20 minutes for the lifter to bleed down. try to spin the push rod after 20 minutes. if its hard to spin, wait 20 minutes more, if its hard to spin then you may have over tightened the push rod.
if the push rod spins freely but no up and down movement, then the lifter has bled down and your ready to move to the next push rod.
repeat this process with each push rod.
once done, make sure the spark plugs are out and turn the motor over a few times, as the motor turns over, have your buddy stop when you see a lifter at its lowest point and spin the push rod.
it should spin free with no up and down movement. check them all.
thats it.

just remember to make sure the number of turns for the type of push rods you have.
call the manufacturer who makes your push rods, or call the dealer if they are harley davidsion.

Note: there is basically zero lash once the bike is running, because the oil takes up the clearance.

How do I know if my motor is locked up? When I go to start it it whines and sounds like nothing is turning, however the tachometer reads 5000 rpm.

If you want to know if your motor is locked up. Hand shift the bike into third or fourth gear and see if you can turn it over by spinning the rear wheel by hand or rocking the bike forward and backward. If the starter motor is spinning but the motor is not , and the motor is not frozen, then you have a bad one way clutch and starter gear in side the motor. http://www.bikebandit.com/houseofmotorcycles/1985-yamaha-xj700xnc-maxim-x/o/m10113#sch514113

Cranks won't move

Sounds like the clutch is worn out. It sounds like it is slipping so badly it won't transmit enough power to move the bike.
As far as only going in 3 gears with the engine not running, are you spinning the rear wheel while trying to shift it? The trans shafts have to be spinning to be able to shift through the entire gear range.Try shifting it with the engine running and see if you get all 5. If you do, there is no problem with the transmission.
