The headlights and running lights turn on. Turn signals work. Have not tried to start it. Connectors are in correctly and pushed all the way in. The LCD display, illuminator light and signal/highbeam and neutral indicator lights will not turn on. They worked fine before removing the tank to check coolant level. No other work was done on the bike. Don't know if the speedometer works. Assuming it does not since its electrical.

that clicking sound is the starter solenoid. check all large cables for corrosion and tightness. as for the signal lights, neutral and horn, i think a wire is grounding , thus causing the problem with the bike not starting also. check at ignition switch and at handle controls for a loose wire that may be touching the handlebar. basically inspect all the wiring on the bike

Check regulator...this powers all running light tail lights etc.

Look for a bad ground connection inside the headlight shell (or possibly elsewhere). The other thing that all of the items you mention that are working intermittently have in common is the ignition switch. With the switch 'on', check for battery voltage at the fuses for the headlight, turn signals, horn, etc. No voltage at the fuses likely means a bad ignition switch.

sounds like a wire has been added the wrong way or wires have damage, switch could be the culprit. Does the kill switch work? I would be checking all wires and the conectors for heat damage (melting). And fuses for all circuts. if low beam is used does key work to stop engine?
