SOURCE: brake light does not work

remove the bulbs step on the brake and ck for power at the terminals inside the socket if no power back track the wires and look for a break in the wires.use a didgital volt meter and ck for continuity through the switches( unplug the switch and put the probes to both terminals one on each the meter should beep ---switch good.........
no beep switch bad) also ck the bk. light relay ,not sure where it is at....more extensive problem ??? the dealer sells service the manual with all the wireing diadrams and locations of the components all u need to fix any thing on u bike .....my 82 honda saber had lots of electrical prob's & lighting prob,s i bought the service manual and fixed every thing... saved me hundreds o $$$$$$$$$$$$

you have a corroded ground in the back light bar..remove the rear light bar from the fender and make sure it is clean, not rusty.

SOURCE: Rear tail light does not turn on.1998 suzuki 1500 intruder

It mught be the bulb that needs replacing or else check the wiring to the bulb for continuity in case there is a broken or snapped bit.If you have a voltmeter then you can test the voltage reading at the point of contact..Sometimes rust builds up and a simple cleaning would solve this.Hope this helps.

Location of rear brake switch on 2000 suzuki 1500 vl intruder

I just looked at my bike. It looks like its on the back side. Look for a little spring. Be easy to just remove the 2 holding bolts to the frame and swing the hole assembly out is my thinking. If its not on the back side i dont know where else it would be. Its only a brake line back to the caliper nothing else

My tail/brake light is not working on my 1999 intruder. They were working fine last week but not now. when I turn the key to the rear "P" position, the brake light only works, not the tail light.

p park position should only light the tail light, so my guess is there is one filament of the stop tail bulb shorting to the other filament inside the bulb, try a new bulb

Have you check all the bulbs condition? Check your fuses and the blinker coil.
