Thank you for the info on testing the regulator and stator on my Yamaha majesty 400 scooter. I still do not know where they are located on the scooter. please help with location of stator. Thanks!!!

The stator generates the electric via the Copper coils. It is located on the the end of the engine crankshaft. To get to that you will need to remove the body panels to to get to the engine. Testing via meters.

Where is alternater located on my 2000 fat boy?

The alternator (rotor and stator) are located inside the primary cover on the left side of the bike. They are behind the compensator sprocket. If the problem is the stator, make sure to replace the four stator bolts. Don't reuse the old ones or they may come loose and cause you more problems.

How to check stater on 1992 honda shadow

Locate the wire harness coming out of the stator on the left crank case cover of the motor and follow it to the plug with three yellow wires. This is the stator plug. You should have continuity between any combination of the three yellow wires, but no continuity between any of the yellow wires and ground. If the stator yellow wires are grounding you will have to replace the stator. To replace the stator remove the left crank case cover and unbolt the stator from the inside of the cover. Do not forget to purchase a new left cover gasket with the new stator or you will just delay your riding.

Charging sys test 1982 honda gl1100

Locate the wire harness coming out of the back of the motor and follow it to the plug with three yellow wires. This is the stator plug. You should have continuity between any combination of the three yellow wires, but no continuity between any of the yellow wires and ground. If the stator yellow wires are grounding you will have to replace the stator. To replace the stator you have to remove the motor from the frame or at least unbolt the motor and rotate it enough to remove the rear cover and unbolt the stator.

How do you change the alternator on a 1997 honda goldwing motorcycle

hello and welcome
the alternator per say is split up into several components. the stator coil(located in the left crankcase cover) and the rectifier regulator (which is located bolted onto the frame above the stator area. you can identify this by three yellow wires going into it.
either one can be tested the regulator can be tested at a local dealership. and the stator can be tested by reading an ohm meter between either one of its three wires and ground. if any show up with any continuity between the unplugged yellow wires at the stator and ground the stator is at fault. thank you.
