If engine is running but motor cycle does not move then you should be looking at these conditions

  • Drive belt worn out or deformation
  • Ramp plate of movable drive face damaged
  • Driving pulley spring broken
  • Clutch weights broken
  • Drive slide-shaft gear groove broken
  • Transmission gear damaged

To look at the complete service manual refer to

I am unclear which candle you are referring to.

See if the videos or articles help. It seems an electronics issue though, a relay perhaps.

The tgb blade 400 atv wont start it traced the problem to the starter motor and found large amount of oil inside starter it was serviced a few weeks ago.

most starters are not sealed as such but collect oil from the back of the flywheel ( torque converter) where the crank shaft rear seal has failed
oil in a starter interferes with the brush contact and causes starter operation problems

Does a yamaha 2003 atv have four stroke engine?

Do you mix oil into the gas?? Is there a place to check the oil (a dip stick). Is there a special place to put 2 cycle oil for a self mixer?

If you don't mix the gas with oil and there is no special place to put 2 cycle oil, you have a 4 cycle engine.

If there is a place on the side to check the oil level, you have a 4 cycle engine.

Next question will be ... how do I check the transmission oil? If you have a 4 cycle engine, the engine oil is also the transmission oil ... rule of thumb.

You are showing a picture of a motorcycle and asking a question about a ATV, but not mentioning a model number. I don't think Yamaha is currently making a 2 stroke engine for their ATV's (there are several sizes - not including assorted models for sale around the world ... and I don't know where you are writing from (and please don't say).

Maybe the best thing for you to do is call the Yamaha dealer on Monday morning and tell them the model you have and ask the question 2 stroke or 4 stroke. There will be no more guessing on your part then.

Make sense?

Thanks for your question @ FixYa.com
