Clutch cable adjustment will be on both the end of the clutch handle and at the engine casing where the clutch sits.

SOURCE: backfires

Hi ......... sounds like the petrol is igniting in the pipe, could be valve needs reground (carryout a compression check), leak in the exhaust system (all gaskets & joints good ?). What colour is the spark plug ? Have you recently put a new pipe, filter or re jetted the bike ?

SOURCE: 94 suzuki 800 intruder. clutch splips in

No adjusting is possible.
Slip can be caused by several defaults:
- Wrong engine oil ( SAE 10w-40 API SE or SF only )
- Weak clutch springs ( free spring length : 34mm ( 1.34in ) MINIMUM
- Worn clutch disk 2(internal teeths ) ( wear limit 3.15mm ( 0.124in ) ) This is the last disk, against the clutch center
- Worn clutch disks 1 (internal teeths) ( wear limit 2.62mm ( 0.103in ) )
- Clutch plates ( thikcness between 1.55 and 1.65mm / 0.0610 and 0.0649 inches
- Damaged pressure plate ( cracks round the spring holes )

To check the clutch parts, the right engine cover must be removed.
Take attention while loosening the clutch spring bolts!
Drain engine oil, and set engine into first gear ( this locks the clutch for an easy loosening of the spring bolts )

Hope it helps

SOURCE: how many quarts of oil in suzuki C90

My 2007 C90t which is the same motor as yours requires 4 1/2 quarts of 10/40wt.
Stick with Suzuki brand oil btw. When I changed to Amsoil, I developed a problem.

SOURCE: charging system failure suzuki c90 2005

My Clymer manual has good diagrams.
The 30 amp fuse that protects the charging system on my '07 C90T is located behind the left upper cover. Yours is the same.
You have to remove the steering head cover and the chrome speedometer section to get to it.
Yep. blow the fuse on a trip and you better have tools so you can get to it.

Setting idle

If you have carbs:

Part #60 adjusts both carbs' idle speed evenly.

If you have throttle bodies:

http://www.bikebandit.com/2005-suzuki-boulevard-c90-vl1500-throttle-body/o/m147639sch506971

Part # 14 should adjust the idle speed on both.

I sometimes have to rock bike back and forth in gear to get it to start !!

Do not start in gear if you can avoid it. Adjust clutch for easier starting when in gear.
It is easier on starter to start in neutral !

I have a 2005 Suzuki C90 which stalls when put in gear.

Hello,

It sounds like a clutch issue. If the clutch is adjusted properly, I would let it warm up longer before trying to engage the clutch and put it in gear. Also, have you changed the oil lately... and if so, did you use the manufacture's recommended oil? Some bikes have an inherent problem just as you have described and an oil change or slight clutch adjustment usually lessens/fixes the problem.

Hope this helps. If you find this information useful, please vote on this post. Thank You.

You can adjust the tension on the level 1 thru 4 or 5 depending on tif it is stock or aftermarket. The same goes for the brake lever. Other adjustments would required removing engine covers on kickstand side of bike. jaxeagle
