The 1026 has a bakelite shell. It is held in place by two tabs that snap over the metal frame. The shell is very fragile. However if you aren't a qualified tech with this sort of thing this tranformer is very inexpensive, rather than take a chance, I would just dump it. You can usually find them at shows for about five bucks.
Should go to C terminal. B and O are only used if you have a heat
pump system. If you have a voltage tester you should have 24 volts
between the wire connected to R and the blue wire (common)

I would check your venting and also replace your cycle thermostat (4 wire therm) mounted right next to the thermal fuse. If you have a clear vent and new cycle therm this will take care of the problem. part number on the cycle therm is 3387134
