You may have a broken or loose vacuum line. Another cause could be a bad IAC motor. If you have a "check engine" light, you may need a scanner to help you locate the exact problem. Don't forget to make sure that your throttle cable isn't binding and not allowing the throttle blade to close all the way.
Check your car's error codes for anything you might have missed. the last time I had that problem, the knock sensor had also gone out due to a spark plug wire leak that had also done a number on the computer.
