All the Japanese bikes I have owned won't start in gear unless you pull in the clutch lever. There is a small plunger switch fixed to the clutch lever stock (the part that does not move). This switch is connected to the ignition and starter circuits, so when the clutch lever is closed the starter won't turn. Check the bike starts OK when not in gear. If you try to start the bike in gear and it does not start with the clutch lever pulled then the switch is not working. Hope this helps.

85 toyota pickup clutch wont engage

The gear box should be okay. Check the clutch-watch if the clutch fork on the bell housing moves when someone presses the clutch. If it doesn't move, the cable needs adjusting, or if hydraulic clutch diagnose the clutch master and slave cylinders. Either one should cause the clutch fork to move and engage the clutch.

Im having problems with my dt 250, first gear hooks up well and second slips and i cant even get into third. i thought it was the clutch so put in new fibres and springs but didnt help, so it must be the...

If the tranny will not shift into third (or any other gear) the problem is a bent shift fork. As far a clutch slippage, don't use any type of synthetic oil or oil with "Special" additives. Just use standard motor oil in the gearbox. Be sure the basket and center hub don't have wear notches from the plates. This can cause the disks to hang up on a notch, thus not letting the plates to fully engage.

Gear box goin in to gear but still like it is in nutural

If you select a gear without pulling clutch in it will grind and stall.
If you are certain the bike is engaging a gear and still seems it is in neutral, your clutch drive is broken.
Alternatively, the gear selecter fork bolts maybe loose behind the sidecover, allowing selector to partially engage only and return to neutral. Try selection thru' higher gears, place bike on a stand and turn back wheel in gear, if gears turn and motor doesn't...it is the clutch. If you cannot select a gear proper with rear wheel turning, your selecter is suspect.
Goodluck, and Cheers.

Yamaha Enduro Clutch not engaging

i actuall have a yamaha enduro 100 and had this same problem.
First thing is take the clutch apart take all the rings out and clean them good with momry cloth assemble the clutch compleatly as it came out and when tighting the springs tight them all one turn at a time and after everytime you go around try to move youre clutch with youre bike in gear. if it trys to move it is engageing just keep turning the screws untill they stop. also recomend putting threadlocker on the drive gear bolt and the clutch bolt that holds the clutch on. if you have and questions just e-mail me at [email protected] just make shure to tell me that i responded to youre fixya question about youre bike and i will walk you threw it.

ps just rember to put the clutch pushrod back in

Clutch sudenly not working .clutch lever tight when pulled in. but clutch not engauging

Is it not engaging, or not disengaging? Does it just slip when you put it in gear and let out on the clutch? You can try a clutch adjustment, but may need to look at the clutch discs themselves.

Cuts out

Does it have a kick stand interlock switch? If so, the stand needs to be up when you select a gear, or it cuts off. If the switch is bad or out of adjustment, it will cut off when put in gear.
